Chocolate ice cream, a slice of pecan pie, the aroma of vanilla, laughing at classic comedy movies, sleeping while raindrops hit my bedroom's rooftop, pillow fights with my daughters, hearing birds chirp through my air conditioner, and lying on my back watching cloud formations in the sky...
You get the idea. I could go.
Rainbows in the sky, babies smiling, mommy kisses, an amusement park, a come-from- behind win, a gorgeous sunset, flowers blooming, weepy love stories, my mom's pepperpot, photos from my childhood, free concerts in the park, a good back rub..etc.
What are some of your favorite things and why?
Some are just near and dear. (Receiving flowers from a kind stranger or holding a door open for me.) A few are random acts of kindness. (I had a complete stranger buy me lunch one day and my book. He told me he does this to support future entreprenuers. I was floored.) Others let you know about me and what I value. Every day, I discover some of the best gifts in life are free.(The best birthday gift I've ever gotten attending a free Branford Marsalis jazz concert.) There are people I just can't imagine NOT being in my life. There are some I won't get upset about if I never see again. I so love handmade gifts over store bought. The gifts my daughters have made over the years are some of my most treasured. If they aren't around my house: they are under lock and key. In my "quiet" times, I take them out and re-live those memories.
Every day, I'm on the Earth, I'm just in a wonderment about God's gifts. There are so many and they are also beautiful. I'm trying really hard not to take them for granted. ( I love hearing my bird families chirping in the morning and my daughters got a kick seeing the baby birds pop their heads during the window. I miss them when they leave.) Rid your life of headaches and just enjoy.
