Yesterday was the first day of the NAACP's 101st convention. Yes, that's right, 101 years!
You may have heard of Fox trying to go after the NAACP. Well, that is because of this:
"NAACP to vote on controversial resolution condemning 'tea party' supporters"
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wpdyn/conten... "Members of the NAACP will vote Tuesday on a resolution that condemns what the group calls 'explicitly racist behavior' by supporters of the "tea party.'"
“The resolution, which is expected to pass, pits the civil rights group against the conservative grass-roots movement, which has repeatedly denied allegations of racism.”
I am glad the NAACP is doing this and is going on the record to condemn the tea party as the racist organization it is. I support them 100%. Some may argue with that blunt characterization but if it walks like a duck…
These people have put their naked racism on display damn near every time they go out in public. And yet you have Fox and even “mainstream” news organizations standing at the ready to question and even condemn those who would call them out for what they are. Every time that happens there’s always some talking head flunky to stand up and say “it’s an isolated incident.” Well, how can an incident be “isolated” when the same damned thing keeps happening over and over?
If you go (please) go to the article and read the link, notice the caption under the picture. It says:
“Conservative "tea party" activists streamed into Washington on Thursday to protest the direction of the Obama administration and rail against what they regard as excessive taxation and government spending.”
There is no “excessive taxation and government spending” under Obama. In fact, taxation levels are the same as they were under Bush. And Bush spent more money than ALL of the presidents before him COMBINED. That is a documented fact. And yet, these tea baggers were silent then,
I use that example to illustrate the point that, in every case where these people foam at the mouth over something Obama supposedly did, the fact is that it’s not true. Regarding the upcoming NAACP vote, I was telling a friend the other day:
“One of the reasons they (tea baggers) make stuff up is because they really just hate Obama because he's black, but they can't say that.”
“But take race out of the equation and Obama really hasn't given them (tea baggers) much to be angry about. He hasn't raised their taxes, he's carrying on with the wars, Guantanamo is still open, he supports their gun rights and he has extended many Bush era policies with respect to terrorism and privacy. He never stops trying to reach out to them, even though they never reciprocate.”
“The ONLY reason for all their protests is because the president is black, but they can’t say that unless they come out openly as racists, and their very existence depends on them not being exposed as being racially motivated. So they make up fake stuff to “protest” him about.
And that is the reason Fox and others are rushing to the barricades to slap down the NAACP because they are going on the record to call these people what they have trying so hard to avoid being called: a racist organization.
Want to do something? Go to the NAACP site (www.naacp.org) and sign up for their mobile or email alerts. And while there, spend some time on the site to look at all of the things the NAACP is involved in, everything from the Oscar Grant injustice to the Texas School book idiocy.
