Mel Gibson. Those two words just get on my nerves these days. If I see one more news report about him, his baby, and his ex-girlfriend. I can't stand his foul mouth, his violent streak, and his girlfriend's reaction or rather lack their of.
I lost respect for the actor after his anti-Semmatic remarks following his arrest on his driving drunk charges. I couldn't believe the things he said. It seems Gibson is following the likes of such celebrities as singer John Mayer and comedian Michael Richards. Act one way in public and be yourself behind closed doors.
I'm trying to figure out what went wrong in his life. Films like Mad Maxx brought him to America's attention. The Lethal Weapon series helped his rising star burn brighter. He won the Academy Award for Braveheart and then produced and financed his own fims like Passion of The Christ and Apacalypto that earned rand set ridiculous box-office records. He was on top of the world. So what happened?Did he spend so much money trying to finance his girlfriend's career that he went broke? Why is he seeing a therapist?
So many questions that I don't think will ever get answered. As far as Hollywood is concerned, this incident doesn't put him in a good light at all. He is the star no one wants to be seen with. Those recorded tapes just do him in. It's his voice nothing has been doctored. I don't think Mel can "charm" his way out of this one at all.
