A MAN is claiming you can be both a Christian and a part of The Nation of Islam at the same time.... His thinking is the idea Christians are following and submitting to God, and the word Islam means submission....He claims since both are submitting to God, then they are essentially doing the same thing....Hold on wait a minute!!! First off, I recognize the great and wonderful work the nation of Islam do within the black community... But by the same token I don't embrace nor do I support some of there teaching...Meaning any path to God with out Christ I am not buying...With that being said I really believe some one is encouraging and trying to recruit my son into the Nation of Islam... while he's in prison...Many of you who frequent my blog on a regular are aware that my only son is during time in a prison in Alabama...I can tell from his letters and writing that he's being some what influence in his thinking differently...He's now questioning who Jesus is and how I know God have a Son... I want to believe Malcolm X and Mike Tyson were recruited into the Nation why they were in prison also...Anyway I tried to explain to my son...That The Nation of Islam denies the essentials of the Christian faith and they also rejects Jesus and His atonement for our sins...As a Christians I believe and have strong conviction that Jesus Christ, is the only begotten Son of God...I also believe He suffered and died in our place on Calvary for our sin....And any sinner that repents and puts his faith and trust in Him is forgiven and justified before God....I also believe the sinner that dies without a saving relationship with Christ will spend eternity in hell.

My brother, first let me make it clear on one thing. I hear the following statement being made often that "Muslims do not believe in Jesus". This is a total misconception.
When Min. Farrakhan moved from New York to Chicago with his wife Khadijah (who we now refer to as the Mother) he gave up his singing career and renamed the mosque Mosque Maryam, after the Arabic name for Mary the mother of Jesus, to dispel the myth that Muslims do not believe in Jesus.
We believe in all the prophets of God from Adam to Jesus to Moses and Abraham and all the other prophets mentioned in the scriptures. We do not, however, believe in Jesus as the son of God and we do not believe that he was born through immaculate conception (aka virgin birth).

Now as far as a person being both Christian and a part of the NOI, as long as you believe there is one God and you believe in all the prophets and you do good deeds you are on the right path.

Hi David, I really have not followed the Nation of Islam to really understand what it is all about. I would think when your boxed in like a caged animal and surrounded by so many other people who are being oppressed in the prison systems, when they need to be rehabilitated to help them change from the way they once were and to improve their lives. One can certainlly understand why so many brothers join the NATION OF ISLAM. These prisoners need something to believe in to keep them from going insane.

Prisons are institutions where people that are rapists, assaulters, drug dealers, users, thieves, murdererers, rapists and generally criminally INSANE person are sent to STOP destroying our Country. Now hopefully if they come outside of Prison they will be Sane and assist Our Leader President Baraka Hussein Obama in making a better America.

Robert, not only do prison hold rapist, drug dealers, murders, etc. they also hold people who innocent and sit in their for years until DNA proves their innocents.

Question david...What religion do you practice...ans soes the history of your religious fait not come from the same Bible's teachings that taught we were not human but property and it was only after we worked ourselves to death in slavery taht we could be able to get souls so thet we could enter heaven...
I can say that history of the NOI did not come out of trying to become human beings but it came out of pride in self and unity and believeing we would be able to creat jobs that pais us our worth...
now, once again could you tell me thie history of your religion, and "I" promise you I can do a better job of showing you just how it is directly tied to black pride and power, ect...

"I" AM WILLING TO BET THAT the last thing per usual is the the average person in America wants to hear the truth...
In prison it is kill or be killed...and most Black prisnors in prison knnow very well the power of the Aryan nation and other nonBlack gangs that are still ready and willing to act on their bleiefs that the black make is only out to rape and pillage and try to distroy them as Christians who don't believeve any thing they do is not being done as GOD'S WILL...
so if a Black male wants to do as most do and not rush to get to heaven because the only way to get there is by DYING...they join with th NOI brothers...or in other wrods..
THE NONBLACKS AND THE BLACKS ARE NOT PRAYING FOR SAFETY AND SECURITY FROM TEH SAME GODS...MUCH LIKE REV. J. WRIGHT SAID ABOUT THOSE ON THE DECKS OF THE SLAVE SHIPS AND THOSE IN THE BOTTOM OF THOSE SLAVE SHIPS IN CHAINS AND DYING AND SUFFERING FROM INHUMANE TREATMENT WERE NOT PRAYING TO THE SAME GOD...
OR JUST PLAIN OLD NATURAL INSTINCTS TO S-U-R-V-I-V-E!!!
