The Queen's Chair: Good Riddance to Dr. Laura (342 hits)

Dr. Laura is finally off the airwaves. Good riddance.

The final straw came when she used the n-word during her show several times. And when a woman called in to complain, she told her to get a sense of humor, if you marry outside your race. Dr. Laura mentioned that Blacks use this word and doesn't understand why white people can't use the word.

I hate the N- word and hate hearing younger generations of black people using it. On an Oprah Winfrey show episode, rapper Jay-Z claims that by using the word amongst ourselves, we are taking back the "hatred" associated with the word and taking ownership of it. I don't buy that for one second.

Sorry, Jay-Z. The term is offensive and has been hurtful to so many generations.Call a black man in his 50s the n-word, I bet he doesn't share your view. I call Dr. Laura a "racist" because she manages to offend everyone (especially lesbians, single mothers who have children out of wedlock and people of color) while "selling" us this holier than thou image.

She's no angel. Her past has comeback to haunt her: including her affair with a married man. Dr. Laura is too conservative for my tastes and a bit of a prude. She has issued an apology on her website. I just don't care. However, you want to spin it: she quit, the network fired her...I'm just glad she's gone from the airwaves.
