Why do we on this site have to resort to name calling? it appers to me tht doing so only snowballs into ugly interactions and results in nothing positive. When I joined this site, I thought that this would be a group of intellectuals who would be willing to dialogue on controversal topics so that we all could benefit from other ideas. Now I find that we have digressed into name calling and one upmanship on each other. I have learned much from all of you. And I would like for that to continue. It is not ofter than we get the opportunity to discuss issues with people of like minds regardless of the color of the skin. The mind has no color. If one person is kicked off the site for name calling then I think others should too. I have found that people resort to name calling when their vocaubulary does not contain the word that best expresses what they want to say. Sometimes, one of those ugly words is the only word that fits. I will be the first to admit that. I hope that we can get back to the intellectual level we all know exists here and for those who do not feel that it is possible, I am sorry. I know that to leave is your choice; however, I want all of y ou to know that if you leave, you will be missed. I'm saying to all of you, now that you have become a part of my life by my knowing you, You can't just disappear.

Have you noticed how everybody seems to be drawn to the blog where they know there is a dispute going on? It's the method to the madness(lol). Also people learn what it takes to settle things,(arbitration) when it gets ugly.

The fact is there are two who have asked me not to post on their blogs, so I won't. But a blog above or below yours repeats the wishful thinking/rhetoric of our President that Great Depression II is over. So let's discuss it here. I say this will go down in the history books as Great Depression II, that the Republicans are not responsible for it, that it is far from over, and that, in fact, the Democrat controlled government has paved the way for even greater trouble, by way of the coming INFLATION. What does everyone else think?

MoZell... you are so right!! I know that I have had my share of fun with Harry... Jamal... Robert... and disagreements. yet, in the end.. like you say we manage to work them out in time... Becuase of the unity of BIA...
But I do not like name calling which is demeaning, insulting and hurtful...
I don't particularly like the idea of folks getting kicked off of a site ..... because on an occasion or two I have allowed my temper to get the best of me and I resorted into the "ugly" my solution was just to stay away until things calmed down. NOT to say anything about how others handle situations... Im talking about "I" and how I try to handle situations. But hopefully as all things in life... we take what's been happening on BIA as a lesson.... and in the future... we know how to handle situations if they happen again.....

Irma, Mr. Obama is not the direct cause of anything that happens for good or ill in America. He is the front man. But I believe he will go the way of Carter, one term. Carter achieved only one term, and he was (fill in the color). It happens. Mr. Obama seems to me rather desperate in his Town Hall comments. A Republican would suffer the same fate, because the fact is things will be worse in 2012 than they are now.

my statement only meant that the rules should apply to all of us. To call a person ignorant is one thing but to state what they said as an ignorant statement is altogether different. I agree that we should not hurt anothers feelings or demean anyone. We all are here to learn, express opinions and hopefully socialize. In the meantime, through discourse, we my have an idea that can help someone. I know I learn from everyone, even Harry. We do not have to agree with w hat is said if we don't. We can agree to disagree and can do so strongly.
With name calling, It is not fun if all are not having fun.

It is my opinion that the conflict building in the political parties is a contrived media display to take the focus off of the real issues. The problems that the president inherited are a result of big government that has been in effect for years. Lets go back to Reagan or Nixon. Nothing has been productive since then.
When Johnson signed the civil rights bill, and america was relatively quiet was a result of the Assissination of the President and there was a lot of grief and guilt going around. Then King was murdered and the other brother and America had a heart. After a "reasonable time of reevaluation", it was back to business as usual.
Then Big Business stepped in after Reagan dismantled the unions and nothing has been productive since. We need regulations to keep greedy hands empty or realitively so. These issues, race, immigration etc. are smoke screens to keep the American public in line while the think tanks and the group whose job it is to creat issues such as Obama being Muslim, or not being a citizen, keep the American public busy while they send millions to Arabia, and other countries to buy friendship.
That is the purpose for those groups to muddy the water and keep the public stirred up. Has anybody wondered why an identifiable Black Man, relative inexperienced, young and well educated was chosen as the candidate against a woman, former first lady and a pretty sharp one at that?
And where did Sarah Palain come from? Was McCain so inept that he chose such a looser? Was he trying to loose and if so why? Did he make the choice. If she had been black, with a husband who didn't work, a pregnant teen daughter, and a shady past, she wouldn't have gotten to the primaries.
Obama's first term has been flooded with issues and occurrances to keep him off balance and fragmented so that he couldn't accomplish much. How much could he really acomplish in four years and what should he have done instead of what he did? America didn't get this way in four years. It goes back to Johnson; how many years is that?

I agree o a point. I think Bush will get off scott free because his botched up adminstraition will slip to the back burner while everybody spout rhetoric about the "First" Black President. Part of what i talked about in my other blog is designed to give Bush a get way point. Everybody is so busy rolling in the muck that comes in the wake of the wr, health care and the failure of the banks and the stealing and consealing of the government, that these four yers will slip into history with no accomplishments, Especially if the president becomes a one term president.
Hopefully there will be someone out there, who will be willing to tell the truth. You may be right, about the spin that will be given to the happenings. I heard a woman the other day ask the President when was he going to find Ben Laden. Bush didn't find him in 8 years so now on top of everything else, he is responsible for Osama not being found.
I don't think that a world war is coming but the middle East is not through with us. When the Wall between East and West Germany came down, I said our next conflict would be in the middle east and look where we are.

Greetings to All,
For the most part, when I say that Black Americans are the most ignorant people in White America is not name-calling. Instead, I am making a factual comment, especially when I back it up. No one has said that I was wrong about anything!
For instance, when a people do not know who they are and shows no intellectual interest to discuss the matter we are obviously an ignorant people, am I right.
Some of us believe that we are Colored people, Black Hebrew Israelites, African Americans or the Asiatic Black man. Naturally, all these different labels shows that a serious dialogue is needed to resolve permanently our discrepancies, am I right. Yet, you ignorant Negroes will not come to the table to rationally, honestly and uprightly discuss who we are. Instead, you all will say let us agree to disagree, which is the most ignorant thing I have ever heard since at the end of the day no progress or resolution has been made.
Black Americans’ way of thinking makes us an ignorant people and we need to face the fact that we are the most ignorant people in White America.
Now, I am asking who we are. Are we Colored people, Black Hebrew Israelites, African Americans, The Asiatic Black man? On the other hand, are Black Americans a new race of people as I have said born out of the ashes of slavery when White Americans bred themselves with the African slaves they purchased from the slave traders?
Lastly, when we begin to think rationally respect for each other automatically emerges. Disrespect, hostility and name-calling exist only among ignorant people. Am I making any sense with you all?
Black Americans has a problem that has always been with us since our existence. That problem is becoming a real people in this world. White Americans, Japanese, Chinese and British people are real people. Instead, Black Americans fight among each other for so stupid reasons, am I right.
So, who are we? I want to know who you all say that we are. I am asking a legitimate and an intelligent question. I should not be met with ignorance and hostility as I am often times met with you all ignorance. Am I making any sense?
I bet you that no one will definitively answer my question, but instead will give me a useless as well as ignorant reply.

I am not going to argue with you. I am not interest in any negative arguments. I am interested in sound and rational reasoning.

Apparently, all that you want to do is argue hoping that you could make me wrong which is the typical negative attitude ghettobilly Negroes has towards each other. You are obsessed wanting me to be wrong so you could feel smart psychologically in our warped mind, am I right.
In addition, you said this, “a proud people..…” I did not ask you if we were a proud people. I asked who you say that we are. Are we African-Americans or are we Black Americans? Any people could be proud people, but not any people could be Black Americans, knucklehead!
I am not going to argue which you as I said since you cannot answer the question who are we. When you rid yourself of your negative thoughts about me then we can have a better relationship.
I want to dialogue with a serious minded person that we could bring to the table facts and rational thoughts to resolve the issue as to who we are. Going forward we will need to know who we are that when we speak no one will be speaking differently. We will all be saying the same one thing. Does that make any sense with you?

Harry... I have no negative thoughts about you.... I do not wish to argue with you either. I do not agree that WE ARE A NEW RACE ... I do not agree that WE ARE A NEW BREED...
During Slavery... slave owners had what they called (Bucks) whom they would pass along to mate with select slave women in hopes to produce strong/black offsprings. Needless to say, that was where breeding came from.
Today, we are so much smarter than those slave masters and know that genetics produces the traits of our offspring. So therefore, nothing new...
We are a race of mixed cultures... Irish, Native, African, European, etc. But what you see in most of people of color is the dominant genetic factor of our African Ancestors... So... thus we are called African American... I am African/Native American... because I carry the genetics of both my parents and it is strong visual dominant trait...

But like all human interactions, it involves listening and speaking. We speak when it is our turn--and when it isn't our turn we should be listening.
And always, under all circumstnaces, we should treat each other the way we would lie to be treated. The Golden Rule.
So if you would like folks to take your opinions seriously--and if you would not like for someone to treat you in a disrespectful manner--then treat them accordingly. Take everyone's opinion seriously and do not be disrespectful.

President Bush wasn't looking for Osama, becuase had he been he wouldn't let the Bin-Laden fly out of the United States of America scott free w/o the CIA interrogating them as to where Osama's where abouts were.
Anyway Osama is dead...the rest of the world knows this and evne the Bush Administration...who knows perhaps the Oabma admin. also is aware. We need to get the heck out of Afghanistan because the Taliban isn't going to give up the Opium Poppy sales. Wars have already been fought before over control of Opium. Let's not allow history to keep repeating itself w/o having learned from it.
Too bad, no one listened to critics when we invaded Iran talk about the Vietnam war... sorry for my soap box...

The Golden Rule may not be the moral code that others live by so maybe the rule for some is "An Eye for An Eye & A Tooth For A Tooth"~ Ha! But there is no getting around the rules set by the powers that be of this site. BIA belongs to them so we who want to enjoy it have to abide by their rules or create our own social networking site. and the way the Republicans and the Teaparty are pulling out all of the braindead political moves possiable at this time...I also believe that this battle to 'out racist' the next "racist" politial cut the legs from under each other and demean each other's party has just begun. and I believe that Sarah Palin will be the first one used as the scape goat...that Deleware senate last week win has really given both or these groups a deep wound politially that they may never be able to recover from by the coming election.
