The Queen's Chair: Where Did September Go? (449 hits)

Time is flying!!!! It is already October 6. Where did September go?

If you're a parent (like I am), I went through weeks of Back-To-School shopping for supplies and clothes, signing mounds of paperwork for teachers and emergency contact forms, and the various school activities and events (that kids want to attend as well as you.)

Since September, I went to my teen's pre-college program Open House, took a tour of the new high school, celebrated her 14th birthday with classmates, and helped her now getting up to catch her bus at 6:45 a.m. (I guess God has a sense of humor.)

I have attended my youngest child's AVID program meeting and Room Parent Open House (my last one because she moves to middle school), planned her upcoming Halloween party, assisted her with new math homework, signed her up for alto saxophone lesson, and she is selling products for her Christmas Fund-raiser.

In the words of Charlie Brown, "Good Grief."

I won't even my own projects during the month: filling out medical forms, lunch money accounts being kept current, bowling league started up, my mom's, best friend, and daughter's birthdays, emceeing a charity event, my 30th high school reunion and my 25th college reunion, paying bills, last-minute school buys...etc. Thinking about it makes me tired.

The summer break was good. Now, I have to get ready for fall and winter. My teen and tween want to play basketball. I'm already shopping for Xmas, getting ready for Halloween, writing a new short story, and have to make a house repair before winter. Now, I have to say goodbye to a teammate who is moving.

All I know is time is moving fast. The sun is waning. The days are shorter.Tests and mid-terms are in a few weeks. The snow will be here before I know it.
