I'm not much into stats because I think they are overly inflated, but I do believe that more should be done in our community to educate us more on the prevention as well as how the diseade is transmissed. I think we are doing our people a disservice when we sidestep this topic. Black churches can help alot in this area by providing health clinics where people can get free HIV testing and information about how to protect themselves from the disease besides preaching abstinence.

We know that abstinence is not what young adults are eager to hear, why aren't there more programs to stress methods of cleanliness that should help kill the germ before it marinates into the flesh. It's possible that if you get up and clean up afterwards your changes of contracting the germ are reduced.

Irma, I see what you mean. In the beginning it was found mostly among the gay community. Now, well it's our problem. I think we should learn No s*x activity is safest!! However, I believe totally in s*x and marriage only. But of course; I promote in a big way celebacy...to all singles! I know...many will sigh over that! [Smiles] @George thanks for the awareness reminder.

I always enjoy the comments from Mozell, "one in 22 aint bad actually. It aint good either. But it's a personal responsibility to wrap it up... " TRUE, I look at the disease not the symptoms----the disease of HIVAIDS is Prison Mentality africanAmerican Males, and africanAmerican females that LIKE the THUGS, that LIKE the PIMPS, that LIKE the HIPPITYHOPPITY negros, that LIKE the negros that cannot pull up their pants, that LIKE the LAZY-noEducation pagans.

...and "I" will say once again that I am sure the gay community is glad that this monkey of Hiv aides has been taken off of their backs, and we have taken it on to OWN ourselves .. and please note how it is not on the Black males but the Black female...therefore the Black mother is now adding an added burdon of the WHOLE WIDE world at large yet once more...no wonder these people are not wanted by any civilized nations!!!(nup big time!) WE SHOULD BE OVERLY PROUD OF THIS!!!! (nup)
