China needs OIL: Even at the expense OF THOUSANDS of LIVES in SUDAN ! (187 hits)

Sudan is China's largest overseas oil project. China is Sudan's largest supplier of arms, according to a former Sudan government minister. China's imports is expected to rise from 6 to 60% in the next 10 years. It contributes to the conflict raging in Sudan. Playing one side against the other, Chinese investers makes the best deals with the Sudanese controlling the OIL Reserves.

In the case of Sudan, Africa's largest country, China is in a lucrative partnership that delivers billions of dollars in investment, oil revenue and weapons -- as well as diplomatic protection -- to a government accused by the United States of genocide in Darfur and cited by human rights groups for systematically massacring civilians and chasing them off ancestral lands to clear oil-producing areas.

All Sudanese should benefit from Chinese investments in oil projects as oppose to 1/2 of the people. It is CHINA that is contributing to the problem in Sudan. If I were a Sudanese, and some foreign country were taking natural resources from my country, then I should benefit. Why not get to the bottom of the problem in Sudan....it is the greed of CHINA.

We all know that China is one of the biggest players in the shadow market...Also, China remains silent on it's position to back the U.S. on it's plan to bomb Iraq.

Also rumor has it that East Africa is next to be targeted for hot oil. If there's a war in East Africa, it's going to affect us all. The affect will be much worse than the world trade center attacks.

Also if there's a war in Africa that also means many of our lost brothers and sisters are going to be heading overseas to Iraq and Africa to lose their lives.

It's a damn shame.

You would think after all of the thousands of years of divisive tactics used in Africa, the African nations would wise up and form alliances to prevent foreign investors like China from disrupting the ebb and flow. As long as tribal wars dominate negotiations of bringing stability and wealth to African nations, the kind of conflict we see in Sudan will only escalate.
