I'm stuck with a jailbird (201 hits)

Dear BIA, I want to present this unique situation by one particular female. Here.. Here it goes....What should I do? Let me start off by saying that I am an educated, smart woman. I met my boyfriend in college 8 years ago and we immediately hit it off. We were really good friends and we could talk about anything. Once we began to take our relationship seriously, we spent everyday together and eventually moved into an apartment together. Things were going really well until he had to drop out of school to take care of his grandmother who was sick at the time and unfortunately he never finished. I walked, got a job and bought a house. He was working as well but not in an office environment. His father and brother owned a body shop and he worked on cars with them to make money. He loves cars and it was something he loved to do for fun but I know he wanted to go to law school and was shattered when he had to withdraw from undergrad. I was making a substantial amount of money and wanted to take vacations and go on shopping sprees and I know he felt like less of a man because he was financially limited. In the meantime, he, his brother and father were doing some sort of shady business with auto parts and the cash started rolling. We were spending so much money and having the time of out lives until they got busted. My boyfriend caught the brunt of the sentencing because he was the “ringleader” and was put away for 4 years. I was faithful for two years and started dating again, all of which he knew but nothing too serious. When he got out almost a year ago, I thought it would be nice to have him in my life again and I welcomed him back into my home. He came out with an amazing physique but no confidence. He is broken and institutionalized and I thought that he would snap out of after a while but he’s different. I’m getting tired of him hanging around my house wanting attention as soon as I hit the door. I don’t want a man to cook and do laundry for me! He’s been looking for a job with no success and feels like he’s above waiting tables but he’s a jailbird so really where can he get a real job with a salary? I’m a well connected business woman and I’ve never held my tongue about my expectations and he knows I want someone with some drive who makes money and with owing over 1 million dollars in restitution he has to pay back, he’ll remain in debt for the rest of his life. I love him dearly but I know we’ll never work out but how do I get him out of my house?

SIstah got issues because she's the "so called educated one" and knew full well that the guy was a criminal. What is she complaining about again?

Book smart, man dumb and money hungry. That is what she sounds like to me. She enjoyed the fruits of the crime and either she knew what was going on with the shadiness or assumed he was doing some other type of illegal activity to have money just rolling in all of a sudden. Not sure why he never went back to school because he could have, also not sure about her stating he worked but not in an office environment (what's the big deal, so what many men work but not in offices). She was not obligated to get back with ole boy once he was out of prison, she chose to. I don't see in this anywhere that she was attempting to encourage him to go back to school or to do anything that would have helped him feel better about him. Maybe she was too busy trying to spend the money.
