Share Today’s love comes to us from commenter Zaneta_Marie.
This month New York University’s LGBT student services office kicked off a campus wide campaign called “NYUnited4Love” to respond to the highly publicized spate of incidents of queer youth who’ve committed suicide. Their aim is to create an inclusive and welcoming community at the school with artistic and creativity, so students sent in ideas for a list of things people can do “to change your campus and the world.”
They’ve got a whole slew of ideas for engaging in your community and loving yourself and the people around you. “Try not listening to music for an entire train ride,” “Encourage acceptance, not just tolerance,” “Get tested and practice safer s*x!” “Say hello to every person you make eye contact with for an entire day.” “Rent a film in a different language.” “VOTE.” They started with 50, and even put them on a printable checklist. It’s a fun and sweet list of activities we’d all benefit from, even those of us whose school days are long behind us.
And how do you know NYUnited4Love’s official? Because they’ve got a Tumblr. Check them out at nyunited4love.tumblr.com/.
Thanks Zaneta!
