The Sabeans have five prayers similar to the five prayers of the Muslims. Others say they have seven prayers, five of which are comparable to the prayers of the Muslims with regard to time [that is, morning, noon, afternoon, evening and night; the sixth is at midnight and the seventh is at forenoon]. It is their practice to pray over the dead without kneeling down or even bending the knee. They also fast for one lunar month of thirty days; they start their fast at the last watch of the night and continue till the setting of the sun. Some of their sects fast during the month of Ramadan, face Ka'ba when they pray, venerate Mecca, and believe in making the pilgrimage to it. They consider dead bodies, blood and the flesh of pigs as unlawful. They also forbid marriage for the same reasons as do Muslims. (Ibid., pp. 121-122; bold emphasis ours) Muhammad ibn 'Abdalkarim al-Sharastani in his Al-Milal wa al-Nihil, admits that most of the practices of Islam were actually rites performed by the pagans: "The Arabs during the pre-Islamic period used to practice certain things that were included in the Islamic Sharia. They, for example, did not marry both a mother and her daughter. They considered marrying two sisters simultaneously to be a most heinous crime. They also censured anyone who married his stepmother, and called him dhaizan. They also gargled, sniffed water up into their noses, clipped their fingernails, plucked their hair from their armpits, shaved their pubic hair and performed the rite of circumcision. Muhammad ibn 'Abdalkarim al-Sharastani in his Al-Milal wa al-Nihil, admits that most of the practices of Islam were actually rites performed by the pagans:

To further complicate matters, the pagans, much like the Muslims, ran around the Kaba seven times. The number of circumambulation seemingly corresponded to the number of planets which the pagans venerated as deities. That number totaled seven! Yusuf Ali, commenting on the paganism of Arabia, states:
But the moving 'stars', or planets, each with a motion and therefore will or influence of its own. As they knew and understood them, they were seven in number, viz.: (1) and (2) the moon and the sun, the two objects which most closely and indubitably influence the tides, the temperatures, and the life in our planet; (3) and (4) the two inner planets, Mercury and Venus, which are morning and evening stars, and never travel far from the sun; and (5), (6) and (7) Mars, Jupiter, and Saturn, the outer planets whose elongations from the sun on the ecliptic can be as wide as possible. The number seven itself is a mystic number, as explained in n. 5526 to lxv. 12.
6. It will be noticed that the sun and the moon and the five planets got identified each with a living deity, god or goddess, with characteristics and qualities of its own. (Ali, Holy Quran, Appendix XIII, p. 1621; bold emphasis ours)

Descendants of Seba (Genesis 10:7); Africans (Isaiah 43:3). They were "men of stature," and engaged in merchandise (Isaiah 45:14). Their conversion to the Lord was predicted (Psalms 72:10). This word, in Ezekiel 23:42, should be read, as in the margin of the Authorized Version, and in the Revised Version, "drunkards." Another tribe, apparently given to war, is mentioned in Job 1:15.

The Sunni and Shia Muslims pray 5 times a day because it is ordained by God Almighty. It is a means of showing the loyalty, gratitude, modesty and love towards God. No other religion in the world preaches to pray to God 5 times a day. It is only in Islam. This is to remind Muslims that there is an Almighty who created them and to bow their heads in total humbleness towards God. If it is done 5 times a day, one can imagine how close to God one is and that will help to help one abstain from all evil and vices. It makes a human being better. It makes him 5 times better.
In addition, it is not difficult to pray for five times a day as each prayer could take less than five minutes.
The Quran states: "So bear patiently what they say, and glorify the praises of your Lord before the rising of the sun, and before its setting, and during some hours of the night, and at the ends of the day (an indication for the five compulsory congregational prayers), that you may become pleased (with the reward which Allaah shall give you) [20:130]
From this, we establish five different prayers:
1) Before the rising of the sun
2) Before the setting of the sun
3) Some hours of the night
4) & 5) The sides/two ends of the day (two different prayers)
As far as the Kaaba ritual, to make a long story short, the reason why the stone worshippers circle 7 times (in a counter clockwise position) around the building has to do with the story of Abraham's wife Hajar (excuse the spelling) running between 2 hills 7 times to find water for her crying baby. In Islam the number 7 represents the number of completion. There are 7 days in a week, also 7 is the day that God rested. So during the stone worship everyone who participates are supposed to run between 2 hills 7 times.

Crescent moon symbol
1. The crescent moon symbol was used since 2100 BC in paganism. Polytheism has extensively used the symbol of the crescent moon as far back as Abraham as hundreds of archeological examples verify.
2. All the Arabs at the Kaba in Mecca worshipped the moon god Hubal.
3. Crescent moon is the official symbol of Islam on top of every Mosque in the world and beside the Kaba on top of the Maqam Ibrahim! It is the last remaining polytheistic remnant of ancient moon worship under a new sanitized monotheistic veil.

The evangelism and preaching by Christians is the primary #1 cause of the rise of Islam. Arabs were "late bloomers" when it came to rejecting polytheism and adopting monotheism. While much of the world had rejected polytheism, Arabs, like late blooming adolescents finally gave up their eternal history of paganism.... thanks to the direct influence of Christians.
