Fellowship Opportunities For Masters, Ph.D., and postdoctoral students (2512 hits)


The Department of Biomedical Informatics at Columbia University (DBMI) invites applications for the following programs: 6 month certificate, 1-4 year applied or research Master of Arts (MA) degree, 4-6 year PhD degree, 2-3 year postdoctoral fellowship. The PhD degree has 4 specializations: clinical informatics, bioinformatics, translational and public health informatics. Full funding for the PhD and postdoctoral fellowships (tuition, stipend, health insurance, conference travel) and partial funding for the applied MA and certificate program is available. The 2011-12 academic year MA, PhD & postdoctoral fellowship application is accessible online through the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences. DBMI is an interdisciplinary department at the Columbia University Medical Center. With approximately 40 trainees and 36 faculty, it has amassed a large, diverse research portfolio, breaking new ground in several areas of informatics research. Its mission is to improve the health of the population and to make biomedical discoveries using information and computational techniques. It runs a diverse portfolio of clinical applications for New York-Presbyterian Hospital, including a 2.5 million patient, 7000 user electronic health record. The Department is known for its work on medical language processing, informatics to support clinical care and clinical research, and systems biology.
