Oh poor, poor Shereé Whitfield of Bravo's 'Atlanta Housewives.' First, her hubby flies the coop, then she desperately tries to pooh-pooh all the nasty rumors about how she's flat-broke. Now her divorce lawyers have snatched up her luxury car. Oh, woe is She by Shereé!
The self-proclaimed diva reportedly had her nearly $200,000 Aston Martin seized by her former divorce lawyers, who sued her and won for nonpayment. Allegedly, the reality star and wannabe clothes designer tallied up more than $110,000 in legal fees, according to TMZ.
A representative for the legal firm told TMZ that they had not received a dime from Whitfield, so they went after her new ride last weekend. The sheriff's office was only too happy to comply and seized the five-month-old vehicle as payment.
Whitfield, who was involved in a nasty divorce from ex-Bob Whitfield, a football-pro-turned-sports-analyst, appealed a settlement last year that included a division of the marital property, totaling more than $1.1 million, a lump sum of $775,000 as well as an annual $113,422 in her ex's retirement funds and $2,142.87 in monthly child support.
She has since dropped her appeal (can somebody say, "ran out of money"?). The settlement did not include spousal support, so Whitfield and the couple's two children were evicted from their $2.6-million home in Sandy Springs, Ga., which is located 20 minutes outside Atlanta. The couple had a seven-year marriage but actually separated after three.
What does Ms. Shereé have to say about the seizure?
"It's okay, it's a car. I'll get another one."
