Can you believe December 30 is tomorrow? The New Year is almost here. If you had to rate 2010, what would you say? I would tell you that I'm glad the old year is on the way out. It's probably...no, definitely, the worst year that I ever remember.
Jobs, oil crisis, unemployment, the crap President Obama and his family have had to face, the rise of hatred, mortgage crisis, Wall Street, those who feel they are entitled, desparity...I could go on.
The promise of bright futures for college graduates waned, people close to retirement have to now work longer, Republicans wanted to get rid of anything (program wise) that helps the poor, banking's hidden bonuses and perks, and new fee rates get passed on to us. Oy vie!
Overall, it wasn't a good year. Michael Jackson's first anniversary of his death, Teena Marie died and Aretha Franklin has pancreatic cancer. Bristol Palin made it to the Finals of DWTS...as if. Saw too much of Snooki and The Situation. Last season The Oprah Winfrey Show after 25 years.
This morning, I heard a horrible story. A local woman's son was shot to death down south on Christmas Day. She is broke and has no money to bury him, let alone go to the funeral. It's her only son. Geez.
I feel for that mother. I really do. I've made it a goal of mine to eliminate unneeded spending. Holding off on a few repairs and no major purchases. Hoping to save money. Praying the winter heating bill won't be too high. Man, I hope 2011 starts out better for everyone.
