The Kelley Williams-Bolar mess: A school board members take

I have sat back and until today have not posted anything about a case in which a poor black woman Kelley Williams-Bolar was jailed for sending her kids to an out of district school. I have read the responses many have given to this story on other blogs and web sites.

George, the real problem is the discrepancy among school districts. You speak of lost money to the one district. Well where is the money for the other school district? Not there, which is why it is failing and she sent her kids elsewhere. Equity in education requires equity in funding. How do you propose to solve that? If that were solved, these situations would not even arise.
