In 1708, slaves outnumbered whites in South Carolina.
The first major slave revolt occurred in South Carolina in 1739.
By 1742, there were 20,000+ blacks and 266,000 mulattoes in Mexico.
In 1760, Jupiter Hammon published a book of poetry.
The black population in British America was about 325,000.
As early as the 1700, the fight against slavery was a regular occurance. As a result, many states started making laws to inforce slavery and make slavery legal.
By the time the colonies fought for independence, there were 450,000 blacks in the country.
