BANK FOR THE UNBANKED!
March 22, 2011
Memphis, TN
New surveys released from Memphis Financial Institutions states that at least 20% of Memphians are without having access to a banking account. Mayor A.C. Wharton along with local financial institutions served up ways the people of Memphis can start savings and checking accounts even with bad or no credit. This program is designed with poor working class Memphians who have no banking accounts and are turned down from ones applied for in the past. This will also improve high check cashing fees in locations where thousands cash their checks. The program is associated with 18 banks and loan institutions in town. The accounts will for those who are seriously about starting a bank account. The new patrons will have to sign up for a financial class as one of the steps to getting a bank account. It is the hope that many will apply. For more information contact a local Memphis banking lender in your area to see if they are participating in the banking program or call City Hall in downtown Memphis.

BANKS OF THE MISSISSIPPI RIVER
RISES LIKE MOUNTAINS
March 21, 2011
Memphis, Tennessee
If you haven’t taken a trip downtown on the river bluff you might be in for a little rise. It’s a river rise of water! The river banked reached a peak of 37 feet as it crested this week. The water was covering up some the park benches in some areas. It’s reported the rise came from freezing ice melting and many of the recent rains in areas around. Many observers took pictures of the rising waters….and then others were in distraught of the huge mountain of trash carried to the river banks. Nature lovers complained that the river is absolutely full of pollution cast out their voices as well. The Mayor said that clean-up has been scheduled for April 23rd and that volunteers are asked to come out and help.
Will those volunteers line up for the mountain trash job?
Perhaps, those nature lovers will be first in line!

CAR TORCHES RISES UP THE FLAMES
March 24, 2011
Memphis, TN
The owner of the E & P Repair shop was torched in a mountain fire started by a suspicious person caught on surveillance camera. The person could be seen dousing gasoline on several cars and light the awaiting vehicles into flames. The mountain torches of cars were all severely damaged beyond repair. The owner has an idea it’s one of dissatisfied customers out to get revenge. The shop was badly burned and all those 13 to 14 cars will be covered by the owner’s insurance.
That customer may have slipped off the mountain…I guess?
