Wildfires took loose in unruly blazes on Sunday, April 10, 2011 setting fires burning to over 230,000 acres of territory. Fires covered from 20 to 90 miles in just under an hour and a half. The Texas Forest Service reported that at least 80 homes including buildings were torched by the inferno which were supported by windy conditions, and also caused injury to one of their firefighters. The blaze seemed so unruly as firefighters scrambled to battle the spread of the the flames. In addition to the burning of homes and trees; other incidents included burning of power lines where homes in Gallego, Texas to had no lineage to power usages. One of the firemen said the fire moved as quick as a truck making a sweep across wildlife territories killing livestock and other wild creatures with unruly blazes. The blaze burned over eight days leaving its signature of charred paintings of what was once green and lively. Wildfires fed on dry, windy conditions and are very hard to control once winds drive sparks over miles setting out new burning areas.
Dangerous fires!
Just watching them burn is almost mysterious & it's amazing how much damage wildfires can bring to nature and men.
