Eric Leroy Burt was born in Newark, New Jersey, under the sign of Gemini. His earliest love was the sounds of music. Eric was drawn to the music of Ray Charles, James Brown, Otis Redding, Ella Fitzgerald and many, many others. At age five he was introduced to playing music by his older brother. His brother played the drums and Eric took to banging on anything he could find in the house. At age eight he began learning music in grade school and by the age of twelve he had learned to read and play the clarinet and saxophone. His brother suggested to him that he learn to play the bass guitar. Encouraged by his brother’s words, Eric worked three small jobs and saved his money to purchase his very own bass guitar and amplifier. Within a year he began playing in bands, and this led to studios and performing live. Although his music didn’t lead to a career, this was his passion and to this day he still enjoys music of all types.
