The New York Times news media has recently employed their first African American Managing Editor. Jill Abramson fills the position of Executive Editor and is the first female to hold the most prominent position. She succeeds Bill Keller who took the position in 2003 as also restoring the fallout from the Jayson Blair scandal and restored stability to the newspaper.
