Dear Gardeners:
I just had to write to you today! Frankly, I have been enjoying my share of fresh home grown garden tomatoes! In the last few days I had some of the most wonderful tasting salads ever! I have to admit though I didn't grow those "maters" myself so I'm not hiding anything, they were a gift of my friend Charles! He has a most wonderful veggie garden!! He also shared with me his wonderful fresh okra! Which I've frozen to use during the winter months! It's a great time to do garden harvest of those vegetables and start loading your table with fresh home grown blessings from a home garden. Tomatoes can't be frozen in their natural state, but they can be mashed up, cooked and canned frozen and later used for tomato sauce. You can use a pressure canner, or a water bath canner. This process is not very hard to do and requires little skill, just a little commitment of time and effort. I think I'm right about that, but I never do it!
Far as "Fried Green Tomatoes" you know that's absolutely de..lic..ious! It's a favorite of many Southerners, and no so Southern Folk everywhere. Slicing those green jewels and coating them with corn meal and a batter of a little flour can down right "Good!" So if you like tomatoes like that you're a real "Mater Lover" And lastly, you can do many dishes with tomatoes don't forget your pasta dishes are just plain with the ever presence of tomatoes. Just fine. Man, I've really been goin in the letter. I guess I got caught up in the vine! LOL! Well, I have to go, but it's been so nice to write in my favorite blogs! It's wonderful! I enjoy sharing and writing too! Especially when you come by for a read. It's nice you came. I'll write soon!
Toodles!
"So tell me how does your gardens grow?"
"I'd surely love to know...
Mine grows with lots and lots of
"LOVE."
Love and harmony,
MMMMM..hmmmm.
