In West Africa’s Mauritania, in the age of twitter and space exploration – Black Africans are openly enslaved by wealthy Muslims.
Mauritania Main article: Slavery in Mauritania A system exists now by which Arab Muslims -- the bidanes—own black slaves, the haratines. An estimated 90,000 Mauritanians remain essentially enslaved.[23] The ruling bidanes (the name means literally white-skinned people) are descendants of the Sanhaja Berbers and Beni Hassan Arab tribes who emigrated to northwest Africa and present-day Western Sahara and Mauritania during the Middle Ages.[24] According to some estimates, up to 600,000 Mauritanians, or 20% of the population, are still enslaved, many of them used as bonded labour.[25] Slavery in Mauritania was criminalized in August 2007.[26] Malouma Messoud, a former Muslim slave has explained her enslavement to a religious leader: "We didn't learn this history in school; we simply grew up within this social hierarchy and lived it. Slaves believe that if they do not obey their masters, they will not go to paradise. They are raised in a social and religious system that everyday reinforces this idea.[27]" In Mauritania, despite slave ownership having been banned by law in 1981, hereditary slavery continues.[28] Moreover, according to Amnesty International: "Not only has the government denied the existence of slavery and failed to respond to cases brought to its attention, it has hampered the activities of organisations which are working on the issue, including by refusing to grant them official recognition".[29] Imam El Hassan Ould Benyamin of Tayarat in 1997 expressed his views about earlier proclamations ending slavery in his country as follows: "[it] is contrary to the teachings of the fundamental text of Islamic law, the Quran ... [and] amounts to the expropriation from Muslims of their goods; goods that were acquired legally. The state, if it is Islamic, does not have the right to seize my house, my wife or my slave."[30]

again, a friend of mine is Mauritanian, I just completed Eid Festival with him yesterday morning and I assure you he and his family look more like Harry than I.

Hello to All,
Tell me, why are you Negroes concerned about things that you cannot do anything about and have nothing to do with Black Americans?

Should you not be concerned about your own conditions and situations? More importantly, should you not be concerned about who we you are as a people and how we came into existence instead of being concern about Africa and things that you cannot do anything about?
Mr. Weston said he does not want sovereignty for himself and Black Americans because Black Americans are citizens of the greatest nation (the United States of White America) on planet earth. Those are his words!
Now, it is not my intentions to cast down Mr. Weston. However, Mr. Weston has the mind that our ancestors had and most of us today still have. We are the most ignorant people in this country, but that is going to change in my life time. Our ancestors were so ignorant that they almost saw the slave masters as God and had more fair for the slave masters than a free man would have for God. Our ancestors thought that without White America they could not survive, am I right.
Mr. Weston said he does not want sovereignty since he is a citizen of the greatest nation on planet earth tells me that Mr. Weston is mentally dead and ignorant.
Anyone that would depend on someone else because they are greater than you are is a very ignorant person and will always have inferior thoughts. Mr. Weston should desire to become a citizen of his own Black American nation. Perhaps, one day Black Americans could overtake White America and become the greatest nation on planet earth. Right now if White America suddenly is no longer the greatest nation on planet earth and the Chinese becomes the greatest nation on planet earth Mr. Weston will abandon his White mentors for Chinese mentors, am I right. Along the way Mr. Weston does not desire for himself and his people to become great. Mr. Weston always wants to follow behind other great people sucking up to them to take care of him. Mr. Weston thinking must change, am I right.
