BET.com--An activist has filed a complaint with the US Attorney General’s Office regarding the treatment that rapper T.I. has been receiving.
Najee Ali, Executive Director of Project Islamic H.O.P.E. believes that the rapper is being harassed by the federal government.
T.I., real name Clifford Harris, was recently sent back to prison because authorities were unhappy with his use of a luxury bus for transport to his halfway house.
“This is a clear abuse of power by Federal Bureau of Prisons officials. If T.I. wanted to leave prison on a flying carpet that should have been his choice,” Ali said in a statement to EUR.
“What’s even more hypocritical is that prison staff posed in front of the tour bus that T.I. used to ride back to Atlanta in. Were calling for Attorney General Holder to intervene and have T.I. released from custody and to investigate why T.I. was remanded back into federal custody.”
Ali noted that the general public can also contact A.G. Holder at his office via phone (202-514-2001) or email (AskDOJ@usdoj.gov) to file a complaint.
