COMEDY CENTRAL, September 26, 2011--Jon Stewart has a message for Republican primary voters: Make up your mind, already.
First, Michele Bachmann was the frontrunner, then Rick Perry and now all eyes are suddenly on New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie.
"It's like the Republican primary is a season of American Idol in reverse, where every week you add another idiot," Stewart said on Monday.
"Republican base ... have you ever considered the possibility that maybe your candidates aren't the problem?" Stewart added. "Maybe it's you?"
Republican voters are unrealistic, Stewart added, and contradictory: they want a candidate who will cut taxes and balance the budget, a child of poor immigrants who will build a fence to keep them out, and so on.
"You guys need to take a long hard look in the mirror and not come away thinking, there's something wrong with this mirror," Stewart said. "And now you want Chris Christie. Sure you do."
