Things I Know as I turn 50! (445 hits)

When I younger, I use to take my birthdate and subtract it from a year far in the future and think “Wow, in 2012 I be 50 years old!” It seemed so far away and I had plenty of time to get there.

Well, 2012 is here!!! I will be 50 this year. Looking back over it all I can tell you that I made some mistakes. I have made piss poor decisions, and paid for every one of them. I have had some extraordinary moments in my life up to this point! I also can tell you that I understand the saints when they say, “I wouldn’t give nothing for my journey!”

But if I could sum it all up, I would say this:

1.1. Everything must change. As you grow and add to your experiences, you change. As you change, so do the people around you. If you are honest with yourself, the people in your life who don’t change…usually won’t hold the same place or weight in your life.

2. Nothing last forever. That would include anger, pain, sorrow, heartache and tears.

3. What a difference a day makes. What is all important today may mean nothing in the morning. Choose your battles wisely. If you are going to exhaust yourself in a fight, it should not be for an empty victory.

4. Go after your dreams! God gave you those for a reason. If you can see it, you can do it. It is worth every moment you put in to it to see the manifestation.

5. Life is ALWAYS sweeter when you’re sharing it with the love of life!!! God’s plan was for man not to be alone. He knew we would do better, together. There is someone whom God created with you in mind. God did not just give Adam a warm body, He created someone for him that he was suppose to multiple with and have dominion together. That takes someone whom you match in every way. Why settle for less?

6. The Father, Son and Holy Ghost must rest, rule and abide in your life!!!! Everything rest on this point alone. If not, you won’t be able to handle change. Your pain will seem like forever. Your days will be full of fighting. You won’t have any energy to dream or pursue. You will never recognize the Love of your life because only God can make those connections for you.

For I know the thoughts I think towards you says the Lord. Thoughts of good and not of evil. To give you an expected end. Jeremiah 29:11

The first 50 have been real! Should the Lord allow me to see my 50th birthday, I will be celebrating BIG TIME!!! In the words from the song Donald Lawrence wrote, “You ain’t seen nothing yet!”
