MSNBC, March 14, 2012 -- The government has been very busy performing nips and tucks on the reproductive rights of women, and Nina Turner, an Ohio State Senator, is sick of it. In a move that some assumed was just meant to jam up the system with sarcasm, Turner has proposed a bill that would limit a man’s ability to get a prescription for Viagra because it’s only fair that men get the same attention as women.
Her proposition mirrors the efforts of her GOP to regulate access to women’s reproductive health care by requiring “men to receive psychological counseling to verify that they have a medical reason for taking erectile dysfunction medications, such as Viagra, before they can legally obtain a prescription for it. It would also require doctors to inform men, in writing, about the potential risks of drugs like Viagra.” Watch Turner speak about the seriousness of her efforts to MSNBC.
