And I anin't got nobody....but I got a little money, and a lot of joy!. I was speaking to a man today, a stranger who said his situation was bad and he wished he could of won that lottery. I said; "But things could be worse right?" He agreed things could be worse.
I grew up poor, my father a farmer/sharecropper and my mom was housewife and did work as a maid. However, I can't remember not once being hungry for a long period of time. Some families are just good providers and their children never realize they live in poverty. They are happy and full of life and vigor. They may not wear designer clothings or ride in really expensive cars, but their vehicles take them from point A to point B. There are other families who do suffer a bitter more harshly living, and their needs are greater. I realize there will always be the poor. This makes a Saturday night a great reminising time, and one that also brings about a peace and thankfulness. Saturday nights are a blessings. I think I'll shut off the lights in honor of Earth Hour "it's only for an hour" and I'll light a candle to thank my Earth's creator for all his creations.
I'll be thinking about you too.
