It's April! What a wonderful time of year, just fit for all kinds of fests. Memphis celebrates one of it's largest and most well known festivals of Africa in April. Internationally known for it's Africa connection in April's Fest this year the country of celebration is The Republic of Mali. I'll be taking you there in words from events written in this little publication "A Little Southern News" We'll share only Southern moments from events that give you highlights and a little news of the events with a smile or a laughter. Join me here as we take the journey to the Festival's 26th year and other fests and celebrations in Memphis. "What do you mean who am I? Why, I'm Yo' Lil' Southern Belle MIISRAEL"... I'm keeping a list so sign y'alls name so nobody wants gets lost while at the fest. Dat's should be hard because the location is at Church's Park on Beale Street. It's easy to keep up and see all them vendor's cellings theys thangs. Okay, who's goin?

APRIL 18-22, 2012

jUst so you know exact dates FO' stuff anin't been released yet, but I bought can git them dates in soon as I can find out...

INTERNATIONAL ENTREPRENEURS DAY LUNCHEON

iT's the business luncheon with the international group from Mali and local business owners and groups. They'll serve up an excellent speech on business, travel and investments things of that sort. I'll try to keep Cow from mooing while's we're there! Keep your napkins neat now, no spilling with a slurp. This luncheon is usually held at the Holiday Inn U of M. But a little is all I know.

Wake up learning! Come on down to the Beale Street Robert Church park for this young and old tradition...


CHILDREN AND SENIOR CITIZEN DAY

It's a parade! Old and young gather again to enjoy THE International Diversity Parade. School people, which are students make their marching and band practices pay off with the parade. Fun fo' all ages including yurs! Yo' chaps will have a gallop of fun as they squeeze down that narrow path to visit the food vendors and jewerly shop sellers. It's really noisy...Keep up evory body! I'm checking my list to see if all y'alls is holding hands. We are friends! Brang money and buy something! Old people feel young again when they comes it's double special...


AFRICAN MUSIC DAY

Stage is set as many local groups play, you'll see bands, dancers, and speciality performers on the stage keeping the lively hood well and on top! Dance a jig! NOT! but dance and enjoy the fine gatherings as thousands of Memphians and surrounding communties from Arkansas, Missouri, Mississippi and parts of Tennessee come out. Hear some blues and rock and roll and Pop music well might as well go with gospel and rapp too! That's all a corn-a-co-pia of music to me!

FAMILY WELLNESS DAY

Kiss for good health!

well,well,Well. .This festival even GOT a health and wellness day for free screenings and health awareness. Bring you and another and another to take advantage of the wonderful wellness checkups! Get advised and get-a-goings. It fan tastic! You'll kick up yo' heels. Tonics aren't usually sold, but who knows Africa is known for many healing docs... Enjoy yo' self and takes the whole family!!!

We're goin to tarry over to the some mo' events.. I'll be adding on some so don't stay away...

ONE DAY...
I'm gon' have to have a long talk with Mozell and his women fans..But I have to find him first..He's be hiding somewhears...But that long talk won't be taday! Mozell and his chicks! Ha!

I declare! I think this is just delightFul! Always encouraging to get yo' chillns to read. In fact this day is celebrated world-wide So, Miss Gussie Maes

will be injoying this day fo' sho' This years theme is "Once upon a time there was a story the whole world told.. This day was started in 1967 wit a group of folks from the International Board of Books for Young People. It's celebrated on writer's Hans Christian Anderson Birthday.

Go and get you chaps! They needs to read. It's a international day of Fest!

APRIL 7TH
World Health Day
is some kinda wonderful day to celebrate two! Two wonderful! Y'all this year's campaign is focused on Ageing.. There theme of 2012 is "Active Ageing: Good Health Adds Life to Years" So get into good health day and start taking better care of yo'self and all yo' family's too. You can just see them life years adding up!...Especialy when it's birthday thimes.
