Black People's Role In the US Economy (526 hits)

Under an Obama Presidency, there is an intensified interest in the role of Black
Americans in the US economy. While there are the high-profile Black super rich
such as Oprah Winfrey & Robert Johnson, It is also common knowledge that
Black unemployment rate hovers nears 16 percent. In many respects, Winfery
& Johnson appear as anomalies: and there is increasing concern in White America
concerning the drain on the nation's treasury caused by a group that is so thoroughly
unempolyed.

While the U.S. Government does not maintain records on Federal, state, & local
financial & in-kind assistance by race, it is known that 25 percent of Black Americans
are in poverty: at least 10 million Blacks receive some type of governmental assistance
for the indigent.

Unfortunately, there i on direct method for estimating the precise impact that
Black Americans have on the U.S. economy. Considering the ever changing nature
of the economy, the increasing emphasis on technology,& the fact many of the jobs
that we as Black Americans have performed, & continue to perform. are becoming
obsolete ( either due to technology or relocation overseas), We as Black Americans
should find it important to address this Productivity gap issue.

One of the answers to un employment of black people is for them to make a job instead of depending on someone to give them a job. Before intergration, Black people used all of their skills to earn money to support their families. Even the children pitched in to help the family.

If you notice, other cultures come to this country with nothing and within a few years they have established themselves and are independent. Many like Italians and Jews used what they knew from the old country. Italians in the restaurent business and Jews in the clothing business was used to get out of the slums of large cities. They also helped each other and combined resources to get a leg up. They were never made any promises. So they did not wait for the promises to be fulfilled. They believed in the American Dream, and what the statue of liberty stood for.

There was a time when we had that same drive. It was replaced with the government hand outs and the brainwashing of the slave mentality after the Roosevelt administration. This drive is one of the things I am talking about when I say we lost what we had trying to get what we thought we wanted. After 300 years, American Africans should know that the promises , the 40 acres and a mule are not coming.

As a citizen of the U. S. American Africans have the responsibility to contribute to the productivity, inlightenment, and well being of this country just like other citizens. That also included voting and participating in building the economy, paying their fair share of the taxes and being an ambassassador for this great country. All you hvave to do is go to some of the other countries and know that we are in a good place. USE YOUR TALENTS AND KNOWLEDGE AND MAKE A JOB. TRY IT. IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY.

Me, "I" don't believe there are any form of jobs in America or any place the no Blacks work in. We may not post them on our web sites, or even do any research on, but we are no different than anyone else as we have learnings, formal ecucation, ambition and the ablity to do nay't thng else the human brain and body is in us to do. (smile)

example, each time I see those Exxon ads since th egoulf oil spill, with only Blacks doing them, I never believe that only Blacks work for big oil...when I see all of those Blacks now on the Fox news neworks, I know they have regular jobs. (smile)

Brought any bean pies from the NOI lately....how many Black owned bug business got out sourced...are mega-black farmers getting paid thier fair share or will they hve to go sie our federal government again?!?) ect....therefore "I" shall repeat we are capable to do any thing taht any other members of the human race does...except maybe being treated equally claim being the victim ???????????????????????????????????????????? (nup/ smile)

...example, Have you ever been to the touist areas in San Francisco...those majority of the shops that sell those sweets you buy there ae produced by the NOI...anyone wonder why this must not be allowed to be known by the public at large????

Remember that killing of that reporter a while back well it had to do with tryint to get Blacks to disclose this and put a stop to these sweets after all of these years and years being slod with no problems to be used against of all people a Black president...ONLY IN AMERICA...
