Fear gripped!
Twice... A 8.2 massive earthquake gripped fear first among citizens in Banda Aceh as many panic from the fierce shaking on Wednesday, April 11, 2012. Memories also filled many with the worst earthquake ever experienced in the 2004 earthquake and tsunami which over 230,000 people perishe in about 12 nations. The strong quakes rattled back to back as publicans scrammbled to take a hold to safety. Many fled to higher ground after warnings of a tsunami may have posted possible danger. However, after several hours the tsunami warnings were lifted. It was reported that women and children wailed in fear and screams of the thought of such a life altering disaster pending. There were others who screamed "God is great!" as they search and found dislocated families to unite. Soon as they felt a calm another came with 8.2 aftershock raced them over once more with fear and chaotic searching of safety. No fatalities were issued during the term of this report, but there were some who suffered minor injuries. Tremors were also felt in Malaysia, Thailand, India and Bangladesh. Sri Lanka and Maldives evacuated buildings and beach areas in a readied relief effort in case of disaster. The province of Ache was the hardest hit by the double quakes.
