NATIONAL NEWS MAY 2012 17th Day Source: AP Evidence used to justify murder charges against Neighborhood Watch volunteer George Zimmerman was made public by prosecutors on Thursday, May 17, 2012. The evidence documents included 183 pages of documents of witness statements and other related material with additional pages adding up to approximately 200 pages of gathered material which may prove helpful for the prosecutors and the defense teams. Some of the potential documents include the autopsy report of Martin’s body detailing cause of death and revealing traces of marijuana which were found in Martin’s blood. There are also documents of conflicting recordings of how Zimmerman’s assessment was handled by the distance the two men before the fatal shot was fired from the weapon. Additional documents of evidence include police and paramedics reports of wounds received by Zimmerman and those also on Martin’s fists. The case of Trayvon Martin may never have surfaced without the outcry from his parents and the movement of protestors across America who took stance that the murder be investigated by the fullest extent of the law. By Florida’s law of “Stand Your Ground” may have allowed not trial to be carried out, but the sensitive case has openly brought some reasonable doubt that what occurred shows evidence that more may be surfaced. Presently, Zimmerman is charged with 2nd-degree murder has pleaded not guilty and is concealing his location after posting $150,000 bound on April 23, 2012. Now the process of a judge, jury and trial will determine an outcome described in 183 pages.

It makes me sad everytime I hear the mention of this case in the news. What a sad state of affairs for the State of Florida and for the U.S.

The hatred of Black people is just a reality that will never go away in America. I hope when all is said and done, Zimmerman gets the punishment he deserves...

@Siebra & the rest, Why don't look at God for divine justice for Black Americans rather than looking at punishment for Zimmerman I think would be divinely and intellectually the.right thing to do. What I am telling you is what Elijah should have done, but instead his concentration was on White people being removed from this world, am I right. Justice for Black Americans is having a permanent solution. And, our only permanent solution is our desire to be sovereign on a reasonable and futile portion of this continent that we could call our very own country with boarders. In other words, we want the same similiar justice that God gave to the Children of Israel is what we want especially since our situation is very similar, right. We are not interest in White America's punishment at all. We are only interest in justice for Black Americans especially since we were born into this life of bonage and slavery that we are still in. So, forget about Zimmerman and focus on divine justice for Black Americans, okay.

@Jen I am just wondering why this wasn't done in the beginning? It's true the whole outcome of justice has scales unbalanced. @ Siebra , hatred, prejudice will never go away. @ Harry, I think you have made some very substantial points on justice for Black Americans.

Miisrael, I still remain skeptical about this case. I'm still waiting to see what the final judgement will be. My prayer for the family of Trayvon would be that they would find peace and forgiveness because the justice system hasn't been kind to minorities and to the poor in America. Yes. That is what I would like them to do... find peace. As far as the justice system is concerned, it works differently for minorities which is why I don't understand why people had to bring RACE in the mix. It's now a racial case. It will be difficult to get justice. Black people in America need to stop looking to the justice system for help, but rather avail themselves to positions of power so that we can have a say about what effects our communities and other minorities. We need more Black judges, attornies, doctors, nurses, teachers, ect,.... At best, Zimmerman will have his weapon carrying ability revolked or suspended for a time. He'll probably get probation or involuntary manslaughter. This case will not turn out in Trayvon family's favor. DO THEY EVER?

Jen I know you have expressed strongly how you feel it's much fultility to this case's outcome. So many times we have seen the similarity resulting in no action at all. Believe me I'm understanding your expressed opinion. I remain optimistic, hopeful if you will the best will come of it. I too, believe the family will find a peaceful ground, forgive, move and and of course God will be the judge in the end of it all. Let's do pray for them shall we? Prayers of the righteous are heard. Thanks Sister Jen.
