Did Cory Booker intentionally throw President Obama under the bus?

Cory Booker's comments on Meet The Press about the Obama Campaign's attack on private equity companies have stirred up a lot of controversy. It has even caused a newspaper in NJ to speculate whether he made a gaffe or if this was a calculated move on his part.To those wondering why it would be calculated the reason could be because The Private Equity Growth Capital Council, an industry lobbyist, noted that the state received more than $3 billion in private equity last year.
