Did you know that Saint Augustine’s College is the only historically black college or university in the nation with a full fledged Real Estate department? Additionally, did you know that Saint Augustine’s College is the only school in the state of North Carolina offering an undergraduate degree in Real Estate? Impressive to say the least.
St. Aug also offers the Right of Way (ROW) program. ROW involves the conversion of private property to public use and is used by governmental agencies for a variety of tasks such as creating new highways or parks, widening of streets and the laying of communication cables or natural gas pipelines. Students who graduate from St. Aug with a ROW concentration or minor enter a lucrative career field. “The starting salary is $40,000 with a median salary of $67,998,” said Elizabeth Shareef, ROW administrative assistant. Glenn French, executive director of ROW went on to say, “Our students have distinct marketing capabilities when they graduate from this institution with a degree in ROW or Real Estate.”
The ROW program currently has more than 20 students enrolled in either a ROW minor or concentration. ROW started offering minors and/or concentrations less than a year ago. For more information on ROW contact Elizabeth Shareef or Glenn French at 919-516-4540 or real_estate@st-aug.edu.
