Chatel slaves like FD refused to allow their mothers to be whiped / assaulted in their presents without fighting any and all who dared to asault their mothers, P-E-R-I-O-D, dispite being whiped almost to death themselves over this no, no...
It got so bad until when the children of slavesthat became of a certain age to do damage they were sent to other plantations...at night and off seasons slaves were allowed by some masters to visit with family on other plantations at night...
naturally this was not acceptable to all therefore the deguises to hide who they were terrorizing the slaves of friends traveling from plantatiion to plantations came into existance...at first they were not called the KKK until after reconstruction. (smile)
