Paul is the Founding Father of Christianity. But Matthew and Luke did draw on the Gospel Q, which consists entirely of the sayings ascribed to Jesus, nothing about Birth, Death, or Resurrection. Or Jesus being the Christ.

Hello Siebra,
The question is who the founding father of Christianity is. The answer that you gave has to do with translating the Bible. So, you are not answering the question.
Steve and Robert answered the question and not you. The written Bible supports Steve and Robert’s answer.
You said that the NOI taught you that Christianity is 551 years old. Could it be possible that the NOI is wrong?

The founding father of Christianity is a Protestant man by the name of John Wycliffe (for whom the singer Wyclef Jean is named after) who translated the Vulgate (Latin) Bible into vernacular English. This marked the beginning of Christianity. This upset the Catholic church because the common man could not read the "Latin" bible. Therefore they relied on cardinals, priests, and the pope to translate the Bible for them.
When John Wycliffe translated the Bible from Latin to English, the common man began to rebel against the corruption of the Catholic church. For example, Catholic priests sold indulgences. If one purchased indulgences the Pope would forgive their sins. The people were told that the only way for them to get into heaven was to fork over money to the Catholic church.
When the Bible was translated into English people began to realize that the selling of indulgences were not approved by God. Thus they began to protest against the Catholic church.
The Nation Of Islam teaches us that Christianity is 551+ years old. If we do the math 1934 minus 551 = 1383. Wycliffe translated the Bible from Latin into English in 1382. However, the English version did not go into circulation until 1383. This marked the birth of Christianity. This is why John Wycliffe is referred to as the "Morning Star" of the reformation movement. His ideas inspired the monk Martin Luther, and other Protestants who succeeded him.
There are some who say that the emperor Constantine made Christianity the state religion around 325 A.D. THIS IS WRONG! WRONG! WRONG! Constantine made Catholicism the state religion, NOT Christianity!
The word Christianity comes from the Greek word "Christianos" which was invented sometime between the 1200-1300s. The word Christianity did NOT exist during the time of Constantine.
Constantine's followers even contend that he was one of the first Popes who made Rome a papal state when he issued the edict of Milan. Milan became a papal state, NOT a Christian church! Christianity did not exist until opponents of Roman Catholicism took the 7 sacraments out of the Catholic doctrine and refused to pledge their allegiance to papal authority.
Although Catholics refer to themselves as Christians, none of them practiced the doctrine of Christianity as professed by John Wycliffe, John Huss, and Martin Luther prior to the 14th century. in fact, you cannot find ANY religion that practiced Christianity as taught by John Wycliffe prior to the 14th century.
Christianity began when the protestants separated from the Catholic church. The separation did not occur until the 14th century.

But the word Christos is the word used in the Greek New Testament. It means "the anointed one". The Vulgate was a translation of the Greek, the original language that the New Testament was written in. My major was in Greek and Latin.
Linguistics aside, the rise of Christianity is obscure, but certainly Alexandria figures largely in it. We even have in one or several of the canonical gospels (can look it up if need be), that Jesus went down to Egypt. Alexandria had a large Jewish population, and the earliest Church Fathers, well before Constantine, were from Alexandria. There were many views expressed which were later deemed heretical, giving rise to the Catholic church.
On the subject of the composition of the writings which were later declared to be canonical, Paul appears to be the earliest writer, somewhere around 50 AD. By contrast Luke is commonly dated around 120 AD. A very good book on this subject is:

Christianity started with the Protestant movement and today there are over 10,000 difference sects (and growing) that have been given birth from this reformation and they are all under 600 years old. They consider themselves true Christians and not Catholics. Some sects include, Lutherans, Methodists, Baptist, Mormons, Evangelicals, Jehovah's Witnesses, Presbytarian, Unitarian,Arminian, 7thday Advents,Christian Science, etc. and so on and so forth.
Even the Amish is one of the oldest Protestant sects. But all of the tens of thousands of Protestant sects can be grouped into four major catories (Lutheran, Anglicans, Calvanist, and Sectarian churches.) These also include the sub-sects, independent and non-deomoninational churches.
You can look in any dictionary or enclyclopedia and find that the word "Christian" didn't exist until the 12th century A.D. You cannot find the word "Christian" in any original hebrew bible. You cannot even find the Greek word "Christianos" in any original Hebrew bible. Jesus and his disciples didn't speak English or Greek, they spoke Hebrew and Arabic. In the original Hebrew language the followers of Jesus were called "Notzri" not Christians.
That's why in the Nation Of Islam lessons we are asked the question "How old is Christianity?' The Honorable Elijah Muhammad taught that "Christianity is 551 years old." A lot of Muslims and Christians alike think the Honorable Elijah Muhammad was wrong in his answer and claim Christianity is much older, so once again let's do the math.
If you subtract 551 years from 1934 (the year when the "How Old is Christianity?" question was answered) you'll get the year 1383 A.D. IN THIS YEAR (1383 A.D.) JOHN WYCLIFFE TRANSLATED THE BIBLE FROM LATIN INTO ENGLISH FOR THE VERY FIRST TIME!
The Catholic Church hated what Wycliffe did so much that the Pope ordered Wycliffe expelled from his teaching position at Oxford, exhumed his bones about 44 years after he died and burned them as a "Heretic". They threw his ashes in the sea.
Intense persecution stamped out his followers and teachings. It would be hundreds of years before men like Martin Luther resurrected the reforms of which Wycliffe dreamed.

We cannot deny the Egyptian influence, but when the Septuagint was written, post Alexander the Great, the Egyptians were under Hellenistic rule. So, there may be some Hellenistic thought that went into the Septuagint as well?

Jesus spoke Greek and/or Aramaic. Christianos is the Greek word used in the New Testament, which was written in Greek, the lingua franca of the time. It may have been a Greek translation of a Latin word meaning "partisans of Christ" and may have been used as a term of reproach.

Jake, we have enjoyed the subject of language before. You mention Chaldean. Philo speaks of the Chaldean language as that of which the Greek Septuagint was a translation. The Hebrew which is used in modern English Bibles dates from what? The 10th century or so?

Irma, after my last blog on Virgin Birth I'd had so many of my questions answered I guess I lost momentum. And got sidetracked by other lines of study, like the Septuagint. I still have not read all of the Apocrypha (you know, those books of the Bible the Protestants say are not part of the Bible but the Catholics do, like Maccabees). I do hope to get back to Philo one of these days.

I didn't know that about the discovery of DNA, but it does serve as an example. Calculus was another example I believe. What it teaches us is that these discoveries depend on collaboration, and those who have gone before us. Come to think of it, I could use a personal example. We developed technology at the same time as AT&T, but being a little quicker on our feet (there were just the two of us), we got there first and got the patents.

I still think about teaching, a lot. I told you about the masters program I was accepted to at Bloomsburg in PA right? Well of course, you wrote one of my recommendations. It would be in the use of technology in the classroom, a support role but not teaching. But then I came out here to help with my grandkids so my son could get his schooling. Then I think about going back to PA, as I have 2 years after being accepted to start, but now my grandkids and I are so close it don't want to leave them. So I am drifting. I hate it, need to figure out what's next.
Since you love Elizabeth I era, I am sure you've read Fiona Buckley? I just read the first in the series, To Shield the Queen. I think time travel will eventually be a reality, unless we destroy ourselves first. In the meantime, I read just about everything I can get my hands on. But too much fiction. Once I get into a good fiction I can't seem to put it down.

I've studied and read much of the bibical accounts of the Followers of Lord Jesus and find that history of much of the founding Father of Christianity is derived from those who followed Christ. To be a founding Father would be the one whom also is the giver of the Life. Jesus the Christ being the Son of God would seem wisely also the Founder of the way to the Heavenly Father, the Creator of all things. Even unto the founding Father of those who believe and follow Jesus. It is noteworthy, in following the teachings of Christ that the importance of a having a founding Father is when one has understood the Father of Heaven is the founder and giver of all things which benefit His enormous Almighty Power in evolution of both knowing good and evil. To God give glory of all things of discovery and findings of any thing ever created. However, history of men do analyze much it "always goes back to the beginning that God created." Therefore, followers of Christ believe.

Ms. Bride says that god Jesus is the founding father of Christianity. That is an out-right lie. Jesus religion was Judaism. Did not Jesus go to Jerusalem to celebrate the Passover? And, the Passover is part of the religion of Judaism.
By this we know that God don’t have a religion, but Jesus had a religion.
We all know that Apostle Paul was the founding father of Christian. Why don’t you all want to admit it?

Steve I have to disagree with you on the claim that Jesus spoke Greek. In his book Message To The Blackman, the Honorable Elijah Muhammad gave greater details about the languages spoken by the prophets.
For example, he wrote that Moses spoke ancient Egyptian Arabic, and Jesus spoke both Arabic and Hebrew. Jesus first cultural learning was in Arabic, having lived in Egypt from the age of 6 months to 12 years old. Jesus went to school in Egypt and attended Arabic and Hebrew speaking lessons. Arabic and Hebrew were Jesus's primary tongue and culture.
In the New Testament Jesus greeted his disciples with the Hebrew word for peace: "Shalom." translated into Arabic its "Salaam" or "Islam." Therefore Jesus spoke Hebrew and Arabic and all of his disciples spoke Hebrew and Arabic as well.
In Talmudic Hebrew the followers of Jesus were called Natzri (Nazarenes) not Christians. The Nazarenes did not teach that Jesus died on the cross. Christians teach that. The Nazarenes did not teach that Jesus was a trader. Christians teach that. Nazarenes did not teach of the virgin birth (immaculate conception, women becoming pregnant without the agency of man). Chrisitians teach that. Catholics began to teach that after the council of Nicea.
After the Nazarenes went underground with their teachings, Catholicsm came of the scene. Catholics follow the 7 sacrements and practiced the selling of indulgences. This initiated a spirit of reform in the 14th century led by John Wycliffe and others.
Chrisitianity = Catholicism minus the church hierachy (i.e. bishops, archbishops, cardinals, popes, etc.) and minus the selling the indulgences and minus the sacraments, and minus the belief in purgatory. This is the Christianity that was 551 years old in 1934.

Question: How can Paul be the "founding father" of Christianity when most of what Paul claims in the Bible (don't matter which version you refer to) has already been stated before by Jesus and the other disciples, though in a different way?
Indeed, what is clear is that Paul was NOT the founder of Christianity, but rather its GREATEST expounder!
How can Paul become the persecutor of a religion which he is the founder of? If he founded a religion, it couldn't have been there beforehand right? Think people think!
Christianity didn't begin with the Constantine, nor with the Apostle Paul, nor does the overabundance of history/scholarship, attest to this. This is a belief that is configured in such a way, so that it can conform to a religious system, or a belief that's intentionally contrary to christianity, or the supported facts, for whatever agenda that's being pushed!

Is it because you all heard someone saying so a long time ago? Then I came along and prove that Apostle Paul was really the founding father of Christianity, because neither Earl nor Steve nor Robert provided proof, am I right.
So, it seems that Earl, Steve and Robert were guessing while I was sure because I offered proof and they didn’t, am I right.
Please don’t get me wrong, I am just asking a question because the facts seems to point in the direction that you all were guessing Apostle Paul.

Let me leave you with this When the white missionaries translated the bible in our languages, they asked our ancestors for the name of the Almighty and they used the names our ancestors had always used for the Almighty and then told us that we did not have a belief in the Supreme.
But we now know that our priests were no less wise in their observations than the Greek sophists, the Hebrew prophets, the Arab ulema, or the Chinese literati.
Our ancestors believed in pluralism without hierarchy --- many expressions of God without saying mine is right, or the only one, and yours is bad, pagan, and heathen. Perhaps had we done that we would have stopped the alien religions at the shore, but we are the world's first humanists and we allowed others to come with their goods and their gods.
They came with a political ideology in the name of religion. It was imperialism. Imperialism brings destruction, obliteration. How could we fall for it for so long? The introduction of a book or a gun caused us to lose our footing, to stumble on our way, to denounce our fathers and mothers.
There are no other people on the earth who have had to denounce their ancestors in order to become better people. Is it because our ancestors are so strong that we are forced to denounce them before our conquerors? @Harry... You have failed to understand me. I am not disputing Paul started anything!! I am however, focusing on the name itself of "Christ " being the root word of Christianity. This very word Christ shows that Paul was a believer, and disciple of Christ and followed his teachings. Thus being a follower, Paul taught the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Therefore, for me "Christ is the beginning ; and the Founding Father of Christians" and those who are followers of Christ follows the very same teaching given by Christ Jesus are also known by being titled Christianity.

The Nation Of Islam also uses other ages for Christianity, depending on what we're discussing at the time. One has to view what's being said in it's proper context by considering what we're talking about at that time.
The Honorable Elijah Muhammad in the book "Our Saviour Has Arrived" also teaches us that Christianity is 6000 + years old. This definition of Christianity is applied to the year that the white race came into existence 6000 years ago. Christianity is the white race's way of life, it is their nature. So in essence you can't separate Christianity from the White man. Just like you cannot separate Islam from the Blackman or Buddhism from the Yellow man.
"The World is divided into two camps -- Islam and Christianity. Christianity, or we may say, the white man, has been in power for 6,000 years. He has ruled independently since the birth of Moses, 4,000 years." (Our Saviour Has Arrived page 41)
It is explained further to us with our Actual Facts Blackboard as many of us in the NOI has seen. The blackboard asks the question: "Which one will survive the war of Armageddon?" It has Christianity with a blackman hanging on a noose and the cross on the left side. Then on the right, it has The Star and Crescent (Flag of Islam Symbol) on the right side. So in essence, Christianity is 6000 years old because it is the very nature of the whiteman and that cannot be separted from him.
So now we delve into why our lessons say that Christianity is also 551 years old. How can it be 6000 years old and 551 years old at the same time?
Let me just say this, there is nothing wrong, incorrect or false about the Nation Of Islam's Teachings. If we only study, we'll be guided aright. If we are referring to Christianity the white race, it is 6,000 years old. The organized religion of Christianity as we see/know it is 551 years old.
In terms of the age of Christianity being 551 years old as stated in our Lessons, my understanding is that this references the first translation of the Bible into English by John Wycliff in 1383. It was of course the English version of Christianity specifically that served as the tomb (enslavement) of our people.

@Steve you're right, I have "not disagreed" with your answer about Paul.
&/Harry , I actually support Steve's answer. However, I re-interate one last time saying that Christ was and is the foundation of Christianity because he was the beginning of it. Paul had to have a foundation of starting any kind of movement, that in this event was Jesus. As pointless, as it sounds to you --I find this makes complete sense to me.
Everyone see things in different perceptives. Mine percept is more on belief from a start of something that has to begin with a foundation. As from this statement "Upon this rock, I will build my church." Meaning to me Christ is it's foundation and founder. Who was it that stated that? It was Christ Jesus . It's really quite simple. You perhaps wanted a more "definitive answer as a person" starting Christianity-- and I see more of a "definitive beginning" of a founding Father as it refers to whom it "orginated." I can't explain it with any more clarity than that. Please, I know am not disagreeing with Paul's mission for Christ, or his finding a following where Christ was the it's beginning. You have every right to disagree with how I perceive a finding Father, BUT IT IS A FACT...it does all start with the in the beginning was the WORD and the word was made flesh. Now perhaps you can get the idea how I'm understanding a "Founding Father." Otherwise, with me it is finished.

As, therefore, Porphyrius, an enemy of godliness, for his having composed wicked books against Christianity, hath found a fitting recompense in being infamous and having all his impious writings quite destroyed, so also it is now my pleasure that Arius and those of his sentiments shall be called Porphyrians, so that they may have the appellation of those whose manners they have imitated. Moreover, if any book composed by Arius shall be

The Council of Ephesus (eg. the 3rd ecumenical council) in 431AD is the most important meeting. It is here that Poof! Viola' the man/bull Serapis is transfigured into Jesus, The Christ.

This is why I like science that has tangable things...and, why I watch a lot of programs with scholars of the Bible on science channels...It seems that civilization as we know it began alng th eNIle in Egypt..ther are so many, many things, rites and stories in the Bible that can be traced even by biblical scholars to the society of Egypt.
"I" once not too long ago and it comes back sometimes showing how science has found the story of Moses to be true down to th ekillings of the first born sons(or the reason fo r their dying being explained as what was happening at this time in Egypt explaining this even to the red in the sea the 7 plagues sown b suing writings and things done at this time that science have dug up and can actaully see, today.

Steve when I was in about the 10th grade I told my favorite teacher Mr. weaver I had and idea for an inention and it was to take a weeks tv program an pre program them to comeon at the time they were to be on the air. He said he would help me get the patten for it but we just dropped it.
put all of th eprograms in and they would changed the channels at the proper time for you...this was long before the remote control. And, just and idea that came to me form some where. lol(smile)
But today many programs I loose interest in them after a few minutes so maybe I should be glad i twent no where or I would amybe have to watch th e whole program. (smile)
