Voters in Memphis had two referendums on the voter's ballot one which would increase sales taxes by a half cents in order to raise monies to be used to help schools and pre-K education classes in Memphis City Schools. The other was a 1 cent gas tax to pay at the pumps which would give a subsidy of the hurting transit bus system shortly called MATA. The no votes failed both proposals leaving them to fall. Now there is likely to be an increase in property taxes for Shelby County and Memphis City property owners.
The topic will fall back to the drawing board of Memphis Government leaders to take a parachute to land another proposal to come up with additional funding.
It was a free choice to vote! I like things that are free don't you?

The Grizzles Team went up for sale and has a new owner. Business owner and millionaire Robert Pera bought the Grizzlies team for an undisclosed amount. The new owner celebrated the buy in Memphis on Monday, November 05, 2012 with a news conference and starting season game at the Fed X Forum which the team defeated their opponent in a game win of 103 to 93. There were freebees too! The Grizzlies T shirts! Pera has promised and signed a contract allowing the team to remain in Memphis for 15 years. A crowd of 17,000 attended the game.

Room 306 is the balcony room occupied by Dr. King on the day he fell by deadly gunshots. Since then during the renovations of the Lorraine Motel no one has been allowed to enter the place which he stood and fell. However, changes are coming where visitors will be allowed to stand where the civil rights leader fell. Owners and organizers will be opening up the balcony stand for those who want to see a new dimensional view of the site where the leader perished to a fall. The Lorraine Motel is part of the Civil Rights Museum and will begin allowing visits to the balcony after a 14 month renovation. In the meantime those who want to share the fall will be able to take a closer memorable touch to the King who was for a free falling cause"
