A public auction took place at a once popular downtown Clarksdale, MS restaurant on November 14, 2012. Auctioneers did their tongue twisters with kitchen supplies almost the kitchen sink, and restaurant tools while wishy-washy hands waved to do their bidding. The Morgan Freeman Restaurant closed it’s gallant doors because of it’s financial woes and low attendance. The owner said the famous actor would stop in for visits from time to time however, economic times have led to its closing doors for good. Bidders competed on plates, glasses, and memorabilia. Many bidders included fans and also restaurant owners who wanted to take advantage of the “dishy sale.”
“Imagine serving food on Morgan Freeman plates…that must have been some electric company!!”

You may be familiar with many kinds of awards, but a catfish farmer in Belzoni that’s in Mississippi has not an Italian setting; but one of raising the best catfish. Harrell Potter received the Catfish Institute of America Award for 2012 Catfish Farmer of the Year. The national award gives tribute to outstanding catfish farmers across the U.S. Mr. Potter said that it takes a lot of ingenuity to raise the best tasting catfish and with his years as a cat fish farmer finally made his farming experience something to boast about.
Congratulations!

THE MAYOR’S NEW CADILLAC
NO BRAGS JUST FACTS…
Memphis Mayor A.C. Wharton has been given one of the city’s perk of having “a company’s car.” The mayor received his 2013 brand new caddy last week but not without some wishy-washy comments from some local officials of the council. The Mayor explained that the choice of a new car was awarded as part of his job and was approved by the budget as the best choice as far as the city’s budget. But comments wished and washed said the new car was not a necessity. The Mayor is facing juggling the city’s budget which in need of budget cuts or public works. Fact remains though the Cadillac will remain with the mayor.

Once again it’s wishy-washy when it comes to balancing the Memphis’ City Budget. With the failure to increase of a sales taxes presented on the November’s ballot voters decided it didn’t wash well. This leaves the Mayor to considering raising property taxes which he wished he didn’t have to do. He stated in television interview… “It’s a balancing act. People expect you to maintain that level.” This statement is referring to projects like blight and maintaining numerous city services. The Mayor may have been hoping that the sales tax increase would be approved by Memphis voters and leaves him somewhat undetermined to what actions he will take to compensate to balance the city’s budget. Now, it’s uncertain if the sales taxes increase would be put back on the ballot again; or should the property taxes be increased to help balance the city’s budget.

EPILOGUES WITH THANKSGIVING

Memphis, TN
A 58-year old Memphis woman was struck by a hit and run driver as she crossed the street intersection of Lauderdale and Exchange in her wheel chair on Thanksgiving eve. The woman was slightly injured, is home from the hospital after a driver of a gray Buick LaSabre struck her. The woman’s wheel chair was damaged beyond repair and will have to be replaced. The woman stated that she is certain the driver of the car purposely struck her as she was almost to crossing the curb when she was rammed with the car. Witnesses said the driver ran the stop sign, and police are searching for the driver of the car. The woman said she is thankful to God be alive and that she received no serious injuries.
This is sad…but it’s good she is alright.
He, the driver had to be bit a “Wishy-Washy” to hurt a wheel chair pedestrian!
