Wassup ya’ll? Gave Harry the shout out, because his incessant diatribe provokes some serious questions. Has unity among people of African heritage in America devolved beyond hope of restoration? Sadly, Harry is right; we lack a consolidating/motivating voice. Clearly few, if any, are going to follow our beloved Harry, but whose lead would you consider following? Harry asked, “What is a follower”, but me thinks the more important question is – what is a leader? What are the characteristics of that person or organization? What are their priorities? What will it take to inspire African American/you to action beyond lip/keyboard service? Is unity really crucial to survival and if so, doesn’t the best hope of restoration and growth lie in developing a systematic plan of action? Appreciate your time and sagacity. Harry, there are no ashes of plantation slavery; the institution still exists. We no longer refer to the compounds as plantations or call the provided housing quarters; the modern terms are penitentiary and cell. The labor is still forced and still adds billions annually to the economy, public and private.
What I said was, "ROFLOL"; please don't put profanities in my mouth. Do you really not understand that the derision you create with this African/Black nonsense is simply a perpetuation of the house/field instilled via the Willie Lynch ideology we now call institutionalized racism or schools and media? Laughing is a defense against the grief the depth of your acrimony for yourself and by extension all of us.
Poor Harry, you exemplify the "horse breaking" tactics of the nation you would lead "Black" Americans out of; you bully and belittle all in the name of submission to you. You don't have a plan only grandiosity. While you seem not to be able to master the nuances of flies, honey and vinegar; you seem to have assimilated the mainstream stereotype of the coarse and ignorant Negro quite well.
Have a wee challenge for you. We ll know you fancy yourself a leader, but can you step off your pedestal for a moment and share with us what traits and issue concerns are inherent in and/or required by a leader?
Please tell me Harry isn't the only one with thoughts on this. PLEASE talk to me ya'll.
