Can a body of lawmakers legislate when life begins? Conception is an easy answer but too simple. The life of the mother and the life of the fetus are intertwined until after birth. This is not my whole answer, just a first thought.

Good morning Sister Jen.

I was hoping to hear from you on this, it is an important topic. I think it is clear life begins at conception, but I did not sign the petition because as I said, the life of the mother and the life of the baby are intertwined. In a sense they are one life. I think abortion is a sad thing, but I think education rather than legislation is what's needed. Crack babies are very sad, even sadder than the mother who is addicted to crack. But it is crack that destroys them both.
