Cruise Ship Fire ....
Leaves Crew and Passengers on board misery.
The cruise ship Carvinal Triump ship was detained at sea as a fire burned on board On Sunday, February 10,2013 Although the fire was contained without fatalties. or injuries it did leave the crew and passengers in misery. All power on the ship excluding the ship generators have been loss. There is some basic needs of water for showers and septic systems which were batten down. Members of the crew and passengers are said to be in misery as at a four or five day tow will not get them back to dry land. Some of the passengers are complaining the conditions are almost unbearable. There is no water for septic systems and the smell is horrible. In addition, the weather is hot. Many of the passengers are not using their sleeping quarters but are camping out on the upper deck of the ship. The ship may reach dock in Alabama by Thursday, Feb 14, 2013. The ship floated off course but will soon reach port in Alabama.
UPDATE: FEB 15, 2013 The Cruise Ship Triumph finally reached land safely with passengers and crew elated to be off the ship. Hundreds unboarded which took in over 5 hours. Carnival Crews made available buses and tranportation for those who would be taken back to Texas and reinbursed the passengers and paid for their transport home in additionally giving each passenger $500 and perks of their next cruise. Conditions on the ship 8 day journey to land were tiresome and exhausting said many travlerers aboard.
"Wow!" I know that's a Valentine Day gift they'll all love!! Dry Land.
