I was deeply sadden by the "not guilty" verdict Zimmerman received. I am not saying by no means we as a people need to move on. But we must admit we have a problem with our youth in killing each other, especially in the Chicago area. Every posting I have seen on other sites, it brings up the fact of our children killing each other and where is our outrage. We have to admit this is a true fact. I want to know what can we do as a people to help put a stop to this.

I am not sure if I understand where you are coming from. If we work on keeping our youth out of the legal system from the start, we wouldn't have to worry about them killed in jail, no would we?
All I am asking is what can we as a community do to stop the black on black killings that are happening around our country.

Firstly, we Black Americans are the way we are because White America has made us this way and continue to keep us this way.
I know that I am right because we Black Americans have had no other teacher and guide but White America.
White America taught us how to read and write. White America taught us the Christian religion.
So, what we are today is what White America has made us into am I right.
You asked what we can do as a people to put a stop to this. We are similar to the Children of Israel when they were in bondage and slavery in Egypt. They cried out to God for 430 years while at the same time they were collective in a spiritual manner producing a man that God would find suitable to anoint as their prophet.
The hardest part is producing a prophet. With out a prophet no people can get the attention and help from God and that prophet must be the same race as the people are.
We have completed the hardest part to get the attention and help of God because now we have a genuine prophet in our midst. It took us 500 years to produce our prophet. After producing a prophet the nest stage is that the prophet must establish himself with his people since his people like all people denies their prophet from the very beginning. You will come to know your prophet because he will say things that he got from God that no one else have said before.
All prophets have a reasonable amount of time to raise his people. Moses had 30 years. Mohammed had 23 years. I don’t know how much time I have to turn Black Americans right side up.
After a reasonable time then God kicks in and the things the prophet had been saying all along begins to happen. In that time those that didn’t believe will feel the wrath of God and those that believe will enjoy reward of their believing.
I said that we are going to become a sovereign people in a country of our own and you will see things happening to that effect. Being a sovereign and free people means that we are going to have our own religion and write our own Bible Book.
So, to make a long story short, you must come to deal with me whether it’s honestly challenging me or agreeing or getting a better understanding or rejecting me you must deal with intellectually. The worse thing you can do is to avoid me.
Pray to the Creator and not the Jewish Jesus to make White America LET US GO!

Absolutely! And don't mention the 'no snitching' nonsense that is rampant that allows no justice to prevail for the mothers and fathers of these kids.
I am so ENRAGED over the double standards that we have when it comes to OutCries for justice depending on the group ( if its the Poe-Po or somebody White... Pay back but let it be Black on Black killing.. Then oh well ) that murders people in our communities.
I posted a news article some weeks ago about the murders decreasing in the hoods in Chicago; it hardly go no attention. Go figure!

Soaring Gun Violence Declines in Chicago
CHICAGO — A year after this city drew new attention for soaring gun violence and gang bloodshed, creating a political test for Mayor Rahm Emanuel in President Obama’s hometown, Chicago has witnessed a drop in shootings and crime. Killings this year have dipped to a level not seen since the early 1960's. So far in 2013, Chicago homicides, which outnumbered slayings in the larger cities of New York and Los Angeles last year, are down 34 percent from the same period in 2012. As of Sunday night, 146 people had been killed in Chicago, the nation’s third-largest city — 76 fewer than in the same stretch in 2012 and 16 fewer than in 2011, a year that was among the lowest for homicides during the same period in 50 years.
In recent months, as many as 400 officers a day, working overtime, have been dispatched to just 20 small zones deemed the city’s most dangerous. The police say they are tamping down retaliatory shootings between gang factions by using a comprehensive analysis of the city’s tens of thousands of suspected gang members, the turf they claim and their rivalries. The police also are focusing on more than 400 people they have identified as having associations that make them the most likely to be involved in a murder, as a victim or an offender. As Mr. Emanuel, who has said he intends to run for re-election, begins the second half of his first term, it is unclear whether the months of lessened violence will generate a lasting trend, particularly given a spring of rainy, chilly weather here that some experts say may have kept people off the streets and contributed to the relative calm.

Hi Jen and am glad to have your input. I look and I see 38 hits on this topic and the only response in from three people. This is why we are having a hard time progressing as a people. If I am not blogging about some nonsense "****" (excuse my language) no want to have a conversation. This is why I don't even bother to come on this site anymore.

Because Jen agrees with you is why you respond to her. Both of you are on the same level.
When both of you should know that you are nothing is when you can not come up to deal intelligently with some one like me who disagree with you. I am part of the whole and when you avoid dealing with me it should tell you that you all are levels below me and therefore the things you all say are worthless.

The thing is by now (since the airing of the show) we should have made some progress. It seem as if we are just marking time(staying in same place). We can no longer afford to do this.
I am very sadden by the lose of Trayvon. At the same time our children are killing each , other than a day or two of local protest/mourning...it's like business as usual. We can't continue to push it under the rug or blame "the man". This is what I was hoping for some type of dialog on what kind of strategy we could use to change things. Look at the number of children killed in Chicago. Just a couple of days ago a six year little girl was shot attending a memorial for someone. She wasn't shot by a neighborhood patrol person of another race...but by someone black. We can protest in cities around the country when this happens. I don't know it bothers me.
I am not giving up , I have somethings I am working on to help one of our communities. But, I probably will not be on this site for awhile.

That's what I feel... We as a community cant't go back to business as usual after protesting... I get real tired of the begging and blaming the man, too. We as a community need to step our game up. It's not enough. We have to pool our resources and time to up lift our own communities. We have to do what needs to be done for our own communities and start by policing our own neighbourhoods to keep the thugs out. There must be a Zero tolerance policy for nonsense.
Anyway, good luck and any time spent away from this site doing something positive is time well spent!

---His Mother allowed him to stay at the 'girlFriend' of his Fathers Home to be supervised
---His Father did not even go to the police to claim his sons' body, for a period of 2 days?

had my child used and possessed Marijuana, an UNLAWFUL substance
---for 100 DAYS he would not be able physically or psychologically to leave his room EXCEPT to go to school...or court...or jail
then Trayvon Benjamin Martins' 'friend'--on National TV states: "he just used Reefer 2-3 Times a week"....
SUCH FAMILY irresponsibility---mother and father NOT Channeling time and energy toward THEIR child

Absolutely and to give you further clarification with a experience from my own relative's life... My sister's child had been sent home for every day he refused to turn in his cell phone after breaking policy that stated no use of cells in school. When I found out, I asked my sister why he wasn't back in school yet because surely the only reasonable thing to do being that he's a minor is send him back to school to turn the cell phone in.
However, this wasn't the case so I sent my nephew a text to the effect that to ever action there is a consequence; therefore, one must make good decisions and when one fails to do so... There Are Consequences! Besides, by you not going to school hurts you and you alone. The next thing I heard, he was back in school. He just turned 17 this year.

Poor, misguided youth need discipline and boundaries to understand the rules of engagement. Irma often thinks that I blame single Black mothers, but she is misguided. I blame any mother who coddles boys to the point they render them useless to navigate their society and the greater world at large. Besides, I was raised by a single mother and a whole slew of other extended family members. Although I made my share of youthful mistakes ( which is expected ) I'm thankful that none of them were fatal.
