The Eternal God
placed the newly made man in the Garden of Eden
in order to work the ground and care for it.
~ Genesis 2:15 [The Voice]
Can you imagine taking the place of Adam and Eve only to have experienced what it was like to have lived in the Garden of Eden? However, mindful not to fall for the bait of Satan as I enjoy having the opportunity to partake of everything the Garden has to offer (right at my finger tips) with the hope of being there forever. My vision includes having a long elated opportunity to sleep under the moon and the stars near a babbling brook while nestled between two trees swinging in a hammock to the sound of nature humming in my ear. Never having to stress over long lines at the grocery store or being disappointed by a bad batch of cherry tomatoes needing to be returned because they were spoiled and unacceptable for human consumption! Never having to be frustrated about not having the opportunity to set-up an appointment time that’s more conducive or suitable to my schedule in seeing a doctor! Never having to sit for what seems like forever while a pharmacist attempts to prepare a prescription that only masks my problem to make me feel better without really healing me!
See now that I,
even I, am he, and there is no god with me:
I kill, and I make alive; I wound, and I heal:
neither is there any that can deliver out of my hand.
~ Deuteronomy 32:39
Before breaking my leg in February of 2010, I could hardly wait for the summer each and every year to enjoy my garden of freshly planted vegetation, herbs and flowers for their beauty, seasoning and healing abilities. Mint tea anyone? There’s nothing like a fresh brewed pitcher of mint lemonade ice tea! Quite often, I thought about being able to plant a lemon tree in the corner of my “little oasis” not far from my array of mint, peppermint, spearmint and lemon balm spread. Alongside the banister of the deck would sit individual herb pots of thyme, tarragon, basil, dill, cilantro, parsley, oregano and rosemary; to name a few.
For the earth which drinketh in the rain that cometh oft upon it,
and bringeth forth herbs meet for them by whom it is dressed,
receiveth blessing from God: [KJV]
You see,
God blesses the ground that drinks of the rain and
then produces a bountiful crop for those who cultivate it. [The Voice]
~ Hebrews 6:7
Planted directly into the ground, I sectioned the yard to display a moon (Morning Glories) garden that sits squarely in the center for me to be able to admire from the upstairs bedroom window. They bloom at night and glow from the moon light only to close when the sun rises and open again each and every night. To the left was my Bible garden with a mixture of ancient botanicals to include: Echinacea (immune builder), Wormwood, Goldenseal (natural antibiotic), Burdock Root (blood purifier), Yellow Dock, Rue, Quassia, etc. To the right were vegetables; such as, squash, hot chili peppers (three different kinds), egg plant, spring mix (lettuce), chives, and carrots. In one corner, I even displayed a section dedicated to butterflies and bees to include a lily of the valley.
I AM the rose of Sharon,
and the lily of the valleys. As the lily among thorns, so is my love
among the daughters. As the apple tree among the trees of the wood,
so is my beloved among the sons. I sat down under his shadow
with great delight, and his fruit was sweet to my taste.
~ Song of Solomon 2:1-3
The bees and I would fight over the roses. Did you know “roses” are a very good source of vitamin “C?” So is a plant called hibiscus! I would quite simply open my back patio door to go shopping in my backyard. I would collect freshly cut rose petals and bring them inside to be immersed in a glass kettle of previously boiled water to simmer and extract its life force to become a part of my own. So, can you truly imagine just how healthy Adam and Eve were to include others who lived during that time era - in the days of Moses, Aaron and Jesus? No fruit laced pesticides or hormone injected live stock to consider. So, let go of my “CHIA PET!”
Do you remember a time not long ago when many children wanted a Chia Pet for a gift? Every television channel displayed a commercial (advertisement) about how to obtain a Chia Pet. When your order arrived, it contained a ceramic (terracotta) looking animal, a pack of seeds and a growing solution in which to mix the seeds and a tool to smear it all over your little ceramic pet. When it sprouted it resembled little bean sprouts that covered your ceramic pet. But did you know chia seeds are the richest source of non-marine Omega-3 fatty acid? Well, neither did I until recently when I received an email message from a friend disclosing all the wonderful health benefits of chia seeds. (Omega 3 fatty acid can normalize blood pressure and bad cholesterol levels, while helping promote healthy heart and blood vessels.) Did you also know you can barely find them in the health food stores because they sell out as quickly as they stock them? And they are pretty costly; but, isn’t that always the case! As soon as people are made aware of the added value of what was not widely being consumed, the cost goes up because the demand is greater. At any rate, chia seeds are more beneficial than flax seeds with other added advantages. They are also rich in antioxidants and the seeds don't deteriorate overtime which means they can be stored for long periods without becoming rancid. In addition, unlike flax seeds, they do not have to be ground to make their nutrients available to the body. Chia seeds provide fiber; 25 grams of chia seeds give you approximately 6.9 grams of fiber as well as calcium, phosphorus, magnesium, manganese, copper, iron, molybdenum (see below), niacin, and zinc. The crown of God’s creation is a new creature, a creature that can sound the heartbeat of its Creator. That creature, made male and female, reflects God’s own relational richness. The human family is to join God in the ongoing work of creation. The earth below and the sky above with all their inhabitants are too beautiful and too good to be left alone. They need the tender care and close attention that only God’s favored creature can give. God (to humanity): Look! I have given you every seed-bearing plant that grows on the earth and every fruit-bearing tree. They will be your food and nourishment. ~ Genesis 1:29 [The Voice]
CONCLUSION:
I will never attempt to dissuade or discourage anyone from taking medicine of any kind that was prescribed for them by a trained and licensed doctor. However, I do think it is very important for each person to ask questions about what is prescribed for them. And you should most certainly do your own research to learn about the pros and cons or side effects of each medication you are prescribed. As told to me by my primary care physician, should I be so inclined to research and review each and every medication she prescribes for me, I may not want to take anything she suggests due to the expected side effects. So, we now have a very good understanding. She will prescribe a medication and tell me its purpose; such as whether or not it is an antibiotic or something for inflammation, etc. And then I tell her what my plan is to purchase in the way of a natural herb that’s credited for yielding the same result. For example: a plant known as foxglove is a very beautiful plant that attracts butterflies and grows in a variety of colors. But, because of its major property, Digitalis, it is considered to be toxic at best and should thus be handled with care. In fact, the Latin name for foxglove is Digitalis purpurea which is known to be a very active ingredient in heart medication. [See
http://www.botanical.com/botanical/mgmh/f/... Do you know where many pharmaceutical companies get their inspiration or discovery for coming up with new medications (drugs)? Can you imagine a high paid researcher or explorer being contracted to roam the rainforest to gather rare plants? Once they are obtained, they are shipped or delivered to science labs to be studied and broken down into its smallest component. Meaning their main properties (life force) is extracted and synthesized (mirrored) to be called something else that’s peddled or pushed to us as a drug for treating some particular condition or ailment. Please note: I said treat; I did not say cure!
Chia Seed Pudding (Makes one serving)
Ingredients:
• 2 tablespoons Chia Seeds
• 3/4 cup of unsweetened almond, plain or vanilla milk
• 2 dates, pits removed
• hand full toasted nuts; almonds, walnuts, etc.
• toasted coconut (optional)
• berries of your choice
Blend the almond milk and dates in a blender until smooth. Put the chia seeds and almond/date milk in a bowl and mix well. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for about 10-20 minutes or overnight. Remove from the fridge and stir again. The mixture should have thickened. The longer you leave it, the thicker it gets. Top with berries, nuts, and coconut and enjoy!

Molybdenum is a trace mineral found in foods such as milk, cheese, cereal grains, legumes, nuts, leafy vegetables, and organ meats. The amount in plant-derived foods depends on the soil content in the growing area. Molybdenum is also present in water in varying amounts. Molybdenum is stored in the body, particularly in the liver, kidneys, glands, and bones. It is also found in the lungs, spleen, skin, and muscles. About 90% of the molybdenum eaten in foods is eliminated by the body through the urine.
