Quai Jefferson is a 17 year old starting wide receiver for St. Joseph of Montvale ( NJ ), the number one ranked team in the state. He's blessed with all the markings of a star athlete who has a bright future. But when school and football end each day, he faces a very different reality. Quai is the primary healthcare provider for his mother who is sick with multiple sclerosis. The responsibility of her care, falls mostly on him. Quai shops, cleans, handles bills and cooks as well.
