Jennifer Hudson is denying that a comment she made about too much s*x in today’s music was a diss directed at Beyoncé. “If you took my general comment and YOU singled out someone to apply it to, then that would mean that’s how u feel. Not me,” Jennifer tweeted Monday after the Beyhive started to swarm. Jennifer never mentioned her Dreamgirls co-star in her interview with The Huffington Post. When asked who or what is overrated in the music industry today, she responded that she’s tiring of s*xual lyrics.
“Singing about the same old things in music is overrated,” she began. “s*x, drinkin’, the club. Okay, especially s*x. Like, we grownups; we ain’t got over that, like, really? Ain’t you too old for that kind of thing? Can you talk about something else. I get annoyed with those things.” Though she didn’t mention anyone specifically, the comment was made just weeks after Beyoncé’s “Drunk in Love” topped the charts, which was enough of a coincidence for many to draw a connection.
Wendy Williams was one of those who interpreted J.Hud’s answer as a commentary on Beyoncé. “I’ve already judged. She’s talking about Beyoncé in my head,” Wendy said.
J.Hud’s been accused of hatin’ on Beyoncé before. In 2011, not long after Jennifer revealed her slimmer physique, she commented on artists who like to show off their bodies. “I won’t be taking my clothes off, no way at all. Beyoncé and Rihanna can have that,” she told the Daily Mail that year. “That’s just not me.”
After receiving a few stings from Bey’s fans, J.Hud addressed the issue, clarifying that she’s a fan of both women. “I love both [Beyoncé] n rihanna,” she tweeted back then. “I hate when people try to be messy. B n ri know me better than that.”
