VIDEO: NEW ORLEANS MAN ARRESTED AND BULLIED BY POLICE CAUGHT ON TAPE (WARNING: PARENTAL ADVISORY) (3136 hits)

A video of police bullying at its finest has gone viral on Facebook. The video shows the victim’s, Donrell Breaux (pictured), home seemingly invaded by a Sheriff’s Office deputy who is seen trying to forcibly cuff him without following protocol.

According to news reports, Breaux and a friend was standing on Breaux’s porch just shooting the breeze joking and using profanity. A neighbor emerged from his home and asked the men to lower their voices and be mindful of their bad language. Breaux told WDSU-TV that the neighbor was combative from the start, and when the men confronted the irate man, he summoned police.

“He threatens to call the police all the time about stuff in the backyard and stuff going on inside the house. Things like, there’s too many cars in the driveway,” Breaux told the news outlet.

When deputies arrived, they reportedly spoke with the unidentified neighbor, then according to the video, proceeded to forcibly enter Breaux’s home while refusing to answer the young man’s questions as to why he is being arrested. Breaux continuously refers to the officer, as “Sir,” even while the policeman wrestles the young man on the couch. The young man then continues to plead with the policeman, stating several times that he is scared and for the officer not to shoot him. At the end of the video, another deputy is seen joining in the unnerving wrangle.

Prosecutors undecided on charging River Ridge man whose arrest video went viral

NEW ORLEANS--Jefferson Parish prosecutors have not yet decided whether to accept charges against a River Ridge man whose friend recorded his arrest with a phone camera and posted it on the Internet. The video of Donrell Breaux's March 30 arrest by a Jefferson Parish deputy sheriff went viral in social media, leading to a debate on whether the officer violated Breaux's rights.

Breaux, 26, was booked with battery of a police officer, resisting an officer by force or violence and using offensive, derisive or annoying words. Because he was released from jail after posting bond, the 24th Judicial District Court automatically set a status hearing, a routine proceeding for magistrate commissioners to keep tabs on the case.

Breaux had his status hearing Wednesday. Assistant District Attorney Brian Villalobos announced the case is still being screened for prosecutors to determine whether to file formal charges. Magistrate Commissioner Patricia Joyce ordered Breaux to return next month for another status hearing.

On Monday, Maxwell Billieon, who described himself as a consultant from Los Angeles, contacted local news outlets urging them to attend Wednesday's hearing. He said Breaux's arrest was an example of police brutality.

However, after Wednesday's hearing, Breaux's attorney, Mitchell Gibbs, would not comment to reporters nor let his client speak to the media. "I didn't call you," Gibbs said when asked why reporters were summoned to the hearing.

Breaux, who was released from the parish jail after posting a $6,250 bond, left the courthouse without comment. He previously has said he felt he was wrongly arrested.

His arrest followed a confrontation with a neighbor in the 200 block of Marmandie Avenue. In the video, he's heard asking the deputy, Wesley West, why he was being arrested. He also said the deputy unlawfully entered his residence.

The Sheriff's Office has said West arrested Breaux because he resisted the officer outside the residence by refusing to provide information.
