The real reason is remembering has many runners in the race this year taking the run. Before the race starts the moment of silence reflected on those who were lost, and or injured in last year's bombing of the race. Thousands are in the crowds and even hundreds are racing in some special tribute to remember the lives effected by the bombs which left a scar on hearts of many Americans and families world-wide. As a moment of silence fronted the race, many were praying, others may have had thoughts of well-wishing.
This year's race will have also those running to remember either relatives, a cause to finish in tribute to those gone away, and a personal honor to all who were present at the scene of the terror. With remembering also in the race, there is also extra security for the racers and its attendees. Boston police and security are at zero tolerance and watching closer than ever before that any similar or suspicious activity will not be overlooked. Soon, the race will be over, but as for real winners they will be reflected in many hearts of Bostonians and the nation of Americans.
