In a stunning retelling of the Exodus story, Osman details the events of Moses/Akhenaten's life: how he was brought up by Israelite relatives, ruled Egypt for seventeen years, angered many of his subjects by replacing the traditional Egyptian pantheon with worship of the Aten, and was forced to abdicate the throne. Retreating to the Sinai with his Egyptian and Israelite supporters, he died out of the sight of his followers, presumably at the hands of Seti I, after an unsuccessful attempt to regain his throne.

Can you tell me Robert, what led Ahmed Osman to research this subject? Or even anything about his Islamic upbringing in Misr,, or as he refers to the land of his birth, Egypt? You do have right under your nose an interview with him, if you can stop your recitation long enough to do anything more than lay guilt by association with Sigmund Freud on him. Ahmed Osman was born in Cairo Egypt in 1934. He studied law at Cairo university and worked as a journalist in the early 1960s. In an attempt to find the historical roots behind the continuous political conflict between Egypt and Israel, he left his country for London at the end of 1964. Since then he has been researching the connection between the stories of the Bible and the historical evidence uncovered by archaeologists during the last hundred years.
