Part of my job as a Bird-Watcher is to feed the birds. The Chickadees and the Titmouses are the boldest but inevitably they too are compelled to flee the presence of Man. It makes me wonder, what do they think of me? Do they think of me as God? Do they recognize my bounty and beneficence?

Honestly, I don't believe they have the perception of you being god. Nature interacts and triggers the natural instinct to survive. They are aware that you are providing a source of food. However, I would reason that it is God in you that permits your care giving to aid his creatures. "The birds, they sow nor reap, Yet, my Father feedeth them" You I feel are being God's service instrument and that is having the closeness of God in you. I look at the creatures already knowing their Creator and man did not create God did. Keep being a servant to God's wonderful birds...

I must also add in being as a true believer of Jesus Christ, that He was God according to the scriptures. However, the way he was born "conceived not by a man but by the Holy Spirit, or Holy Ghost of God's power." makes it more convincing to one was made man born of a woman a regular man. The virgin who never was known by a man but by the only the Spirit conceived the child known as Jesus. She never knew a man until after the birth of the Son of God. As you know, I am a believer in Jesus Christ .

Steve, from an Islamic perspective, we (men and women) are ALL gods, however, there is One who is Supreme and the All Wise and the Best Knower and He is distinct from the other gods in that quality.
In other words, We are all "little" god's, however there must be and IS One who is Supreme among ALL of the gods, and He is THE God (with the capital "G").
We are all gods in the sense that we all have our own realities that we live, move and have our being. For instance, we don't operate on the world itself, we operate on our internal representations of the world. These representations are altered by our moods, beliefs, environment, emotional state, etc. All of this encompasses our individual worlds.
Example: We may have communication gaps with another person because what we say is a surface level representation of what is in our mind and expressed linguistically. That surface level structure of our communication may cause them to have a different deeper level representation that does not match what we have in mind. That's one obvious and every day occurrence of the proof we have different worlds.

Psalm 82 is a very interesting passage. I do believe that God is One. I think there is an unknown hierarchy of life extending from God to us, though we do know the angels are directly above us. Then there is the hierachy extending below us, like the birds, all created by the One Creator. As for subjective worlds, well, we do have Harry as a prime example.

I've been trying to train the squirrels to stay off the feeders, but they are a hard-headed species. It's not that I don't want them to eat, but one of the little buggers mutilated my mesh feeder in the back yard. I was convinced after a month now, that they were unable to reach my main feeder, but one of them finally figured out how to get to it this morning. Well, he had to be taught a lesson. I walked quickly around the corner of the house and straight at him. He made the mistake of going up instead of down; the four-foot hook was slick with rain and he had no traction. He was stuck! I calmly walked up to him and told him to go and sin no more. In order to avoid any further unpleasantness, I now scatter plenty of seed under the feeders. It is after all, easier to forage on the ground rather than eat while hanging upside down. We shall see.

I just went out to fill the feeders and as I approached, a female house finch failed to fly away. At first I thought it was because it was on the opposite side of the feeder but as I came around it still didn't fly. I walked right up to it, not three feet away, and watched while it continued to eat. I could see its eyes and decided it was blind. I spoke to it then and told it I'd just come out to fill the feeders and it would only take a minute. Still no reaction, so maybe it was deaf too, or maybe birds are not alarmed by a human voice. I stood debating what to do. I didn't want to disturb the poor thing but its companions were waiting in the bushes for me to get on with it. Some small movement on my part finally alerted it to my presence and it fluttered to the bushes, but a little uncertainly. I guess since it found the feeder once it will be able to do so again. It was a mystical experience.

He cites a recent example of a Mount Everest climbing expedition in which an Israeli climber was well on his way to the top when he discovered a fallen Turkish climber who had lost his face mask and oxygen supply. At the cost of his own fingers and toes to frostbite, and sacrificing the glory of reaching the summit, the Israeli stopped and saved the life of the Turkish fellow. Why did he do it? “Human decency and goodness,” Aczel writes, with the implication that such qualities come from religion and spirituality.
Aczel discusses the mysteries of “emergent” phenomena — when a complex system exhibits a qualitative behavior that cannot be explained in terms of the workings of its individual parts: for example, the emergence of self-replicating life from inanimate molecules or the emergence of consciousness from a collection of connected neurons. He writes, “The inexplicability of such emergent phenomena is the reason why we cannot disprove the idea of some creative power behind everything.”
........The reason that science cannot disprove the existence of God....is that God, as understood by all human religions, exists outside time and space.
God is not part of our physical universe (although God may choose to enter the physical universe at times).
God is not subject to experimental tests.......no matter what scientific evidence is amassed to explain the architecture of atoms, or the ways that neurons exchange chemical and electrical signals to create the sensations in our minds, or the manner in which the universe may have been born out of the quantum foam, science cannot disprove the existence of God — any more than a fish can disprove the existence of trees.
.... Likewise, no matter what gaps exist in current scientific knowledge, no matter what baffling good deeds people do, no matter what divine and spiritual feelings people have, theology cannot prove the existence of God. The most persuasive evidence of God, according to the great philosopher and psychologist William James in his landmark book “The Varieties of Religious Experience” (1902), is not physical or objective or provable.
There is one scientific conundrum that practically screams out the limitations of both science and religion......For the past 50 years or so, physicists have become more and more aware that various fundamental parameters of our universe appear to be fine-tuned to allow the emergence of life — not only life as we know it but life of any kind.
For example, if the nuclear force were slightly stronger than it is, then all of the hydrogen atoms in the infant universe would have fused with other hydrogen atoms to make helium, and there would be no hydrogen left. No hydrogen means no water. On the other hand, if the nuclear force were substantially weaker than it is, then the complex atoms needed for biology could not hold together.

Dr Amir d. Aczel is saying nothing more than the Buddhist doctrine of the Mystic Law. About the dragonflys. I was sitting in the field one day when a beautiful dragonfly appeared and alighted next to me. I marvelled at its pattern, shades of dark brown, cream, and grey. For a long time we regarded each other, we communed as it were. That day the dragonfly became my totem, and ever since then dragonflys have appeared to me a critical moments, to give me guidance on important issues. Following Dr. Amir D. I took two of my sisters cats today, she had too many. They're brothers, Mr. Orange and Mr. Grey, and they've known me since they were youngsters but of course they need to get used to the house. Mr. Orange has settled right in but Mr. Grey went down in the basement and decided to stay. I decided I'd just wait him out, lots of hidey holes down there and you know how cats have their own mind. It's been about 12 hours and I'm still waiting.
