Blacks in Blue: How The Salvation Army began in America (1378 hits)

It's 1872 in Cleveland, Ohio. Maye, author of "Soldiers of Uncommon Valor: The History of Salvationists of African Descent in the United States," tells this little–known story of how African–American people helped build the largest and "most effective social service organization in the United States" (Peter Drucker).
